Maths could help to save our environment
What are Maths for?. Well, it can help us a lot in the fight against the pollution that permeates our planet. In recent decades there has been a shift of the rural population to the cities, since 1950 this has been more evident and the United Nations expects that by 2030 one in three people on the planet will live in concentrations of more than half a million inhabitants.
In only 2% of the planet's surface area, more than 54% of the planet's total population live together and the forecast is that by 2030 this percentage will reach 60%, with a series of advantages and disadvantages. The advantages could be the communication systems, the comforts we enjoy, more efficient transport systems, etc....
Disadvantages: noise pollution, air pollution and more waste than if not controlled can lead to serious disease.
How do we manage emerging waste?
This type of waste is that which is related to the progression of technology, not only information technology but all that which represents a technological advance for society.
As water pollutants we could list medicines such as: antibiotics, analgesics, anti-inflammatory drugs, x-ray contrasts, etc.... These substances also contaminate our flora and fauna by polluting the water.
That is why scientists are considering using mathematical models throughout the production cycle of these wastes (even before) to quantify their useful life and manage the disposal of these pollutants more efficiently.

Mathematics is used for everything that exists. Thanks to them they have been able to avoid disasters although some have been caused by human error.
Yep, but mathematical models go as far as they can, they're subject to the algorithms and technology available at the time.
