- A special huge MURAL cleans the AIR as a FOREST of 30 TREES -

Street Art also becomes active against pollution,

not only through the messages that the work wants to communicate but through the use of a special eating-smog paint.
I'm talking about the biggest green murals in Europe in one of the busiest neighborhoods of Rome, in Italy.
Federico Massa, known as Iena Cruz, created the "Hunting Pollution" using a special painting - Airlite technology - which reduces atmospheric pollution to the equivalent of a forest of 30 trees.

An extraordinary discovery that could bring clean air everywhere in the world.

This would imply a greater appreciation of this beautiful contemporary artistic expression which would also become useful for the environment, so in addition to making the great buildings of the city more beautiful, it would make them cleaner and more livable.

The protagonist of the mural is a splendid heron, a species now endangered, which catches a fish in the polluted sea.
The murales of Iena Cruz can be admired in New York, Miami, Barcelona and Mexico City, in recent years the artist has focused on the topic of climate change and the latter work is its confirmation, launching a great message also to all his colleagues.

When Yourban2030, a non-profit association which deals with environmental sustainability and art, led by Veronica De Angelis, meets withAir is Art, the non-profit led by Kristen Grove, aimed at the fusion between sustainable art and cultural communities, a wonderful collaboration born and the Hunting Pollution starts for encouraging designers and illustrators put creativity at the service of a collective good for cleaning up the air.

The Airlite technology can be adopted by all the building companies that can thus contribute to improving urban development in agreement with the municipalities.

Already 12 square meters of Airlite paint and the pollution produced in one day by a car is eliminated.

In short, with this paint, every wall is transformed into a natural purifier:

• reducing nitrogen oxides and formaldehyde and therefore a reduction of atmospheric pollution up to 88%,
• eliminating cigarette smoke and unpleasant odors,
• not to mention the bacteria eliminating them completely even those resistant to antibiotics,
• and last but not least reduces the consumption of electricity, thanks to the ability to reflect most of the infrared solar radiation preventing excessive heat transfer, saving between 15 and 50% of electricity.

So, when science and technology come into play to find solutions to the alarming situation of the environment they are able to achieve great results and Airlite confirms it.
Just consider that from the World Health Organization (WHO data) today we know that every year in the world there are 3 million premature deaths caused by air pollution.

I hope this new paint will soon replace all the other existing paints that besides not contributing to improving the environment, they are dangerous for humans because containinig harmful and polluting substances.
