The cost of a love offering.

in #sc-v5 years ago

The great theme of the gospel is that God gave himself for our good. The gospel is based on the act of giving. Our lesson points to the Christian attitude of giving what we have to the Lord as an expression of love.
It is a form of ministry to Jesus. This incident took place while the teacher was teaching his disciples. To give the best to the Lord, we must first give ourselves to Him.

The new birth is the beginning of a new life. The Christian life begins with an attitude of total surrender. It is an absolute yield to Christ. When Mary brings the alabaster glass and breaks it so that the ointment is poured out in its entirety, it teaches us to pour all our life at the feet of our savior...
This message has to do with Maria's attitude of giving the best to the teacher, because her offering is born of love.
We will always meet with the evil designs of men when there is someone willing to give everything for the love of God.
The Bible tells us that Jesus had arrived in Bethany about four days before the incident we are studying today. Bethany was a picturesque village about three kilometers southeast of Jerusalem. There was the home of María, Marta and Lázaro, a place frequented by the Lord to rest and fraternize while in Judea.
But in the middle of these incidents we see the generous attitude of Mary. Only in the Gospel of John 12: 3 is the woman who brought the alabaster glass and broke it to anoint the feet of Jesus like Mary. It should be noted that this is not the same occasion that is reported in Luke 7: 36-50.
The follow-up that Luke describes is similar but was for a sinner and toward the beginning of Jesus' ministry as seen in the next chapter 8: 1. The other three gospels narrate the act of Mary. It is not about Maria Magdalena but about Maria de Betania, the sister of Marta and Lázaro.

Although the group that was in that meal, including the disciples, took the act of Mary as something unnecessary, the Lord did not take it that way, for He was one of the most sublime acts of surrender and love.
Mary was pouring out all her love, loyalty, gratitude ... to her lord no matter the price for her love offering.
Thus the Lord expects us to surrender at his feet to deliver an offering of love to the sacrifice he made for us without condition.

sometimes the selfless attitude motivated by a true and pure love can not be fully understood by all who observe a surrender of this magnitus, only the spiritual can understand this act of love for their lord.
When we love Jesus out of conviction we are willing to give the best offering of love, we are willing to pour out all the necessary alabaster to perfume the Lord also with our love. There are no conditions to surrender to your feet

@xioran I firmly believe that this is one of the most sublime and profound acts of surrender to our beloved Jesus Christ. The love with which this woman performed the spill of alabrasto touched the master's heart.
