MANIFESTING KINGDOM LIFESTYLE AS A STEEMIAN

1 PETER 2:9 (NIV)

"But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God's special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light." ... You are royal priests, a holy nation, God's very own possession.

Life is control by two kingdoms, the Kingdom of light and the kingdom of darkness and each of these kingdoms has its own customs and traditions. This set of customs and traditions is their uniqueness and it also what differentiate them from other Kingdoms. But we will be paying our attention on that which concerns us and that is the kingdom of light (Kingdom of God)

WHAT IS A KINGDOM

It is a particular geographical space ruled by a King. We could also put it in simple term that a kingdom is a king’s domain.
Now one thing about a kingdom is that her citizens live their life to the satisfaction of the king at all times and in all circumstances comfortable or not. If the people of a kingdom go against the dictates of the kingdom, it is said that these people are rebellious and they may be subject to condemnation or banishment.

When we talk about the kingdom of God, it has a vast difference from the kingdom of heaven. The kingdom of God talks about the dominion God wants to exercise in the hearts of men. The kingdom of heaven is the throne of God, the collective destiny of all believers.

Our Lord Jesus Christ in the book Matthew 6:9-10, began to teach His disciples how to pray and said when you want to pray do it in this manner and say this “ Our father in heaven, hallow be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Now note this, we can’t successfully talk about a kingdom when we don’t mention the will of the king. My emphasis will be on “your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven”.

Now Jesus was teaching His disciples how to pray God’s dominion into their hearts every day in other for them to be able to carry out the will of God. Because the kingdom of God is not a geographical space, it gains it expression in our heart and it manifestation is what is called the Kingdom Lifestyle.
Like we had established earlier on that every kingdom has it customs and traditions (Lifestyles).

I will like us to carefully look at the some of the lifestyle that must be expressed in the Kingdom of light (Kingdom of God). Now every time scripture talks about Jesus who is the origin of our faith and the king over our kingdom, the writer will say something like as His custom was pointing to us that even Jesus lived out this kingdom life practically. Now let’s look at a few of them.

KINGDOM LIFESTYLES

1. Prayerful
2. Addicted to learning God’s word.
3. Skillfulness in wisdom
4. Ability to adapt to changes and not holding on to the past records of our lives
5. Knowledgeable
6. Quick understanding
7. Apt to teaching or call them quick learners
8. Boldness
9. Integrity
10. Confidence and courageous

CONCLUSION

In conclusion for there to be easy identification of the different Kingdoms that exist in the world, one must conscious put to expression the lifestyle of the kingdom where he/she belongs to. Famous saying says that if you don’t stand for something you will definitely fall for something and I would say this if you don’t put to play the kingdom lifestyle its either you do not belong to this kingdom or you are ashamed of your kingdom and remember Jesus said if any man is ashamed of me before any man that He also so will be ashamed of sure person before His heavenly father.
