The SBC League: Russia v Saudi Arabia
The opening game of the 2018 World Cup
Everybody expects the hosts to win and that's reflected in the odds (currently @1.44 for Russia to win). But it won't be as easy as the odds imply.
Russia has the home advantage, but their squad is not that good. Their last win has been almost a year ago and since then they've played seven matches with 0W-3D-4L.
On the other hand, Saudi Arabia did much better in the last seven matches having the record of 2W-1D-4L.
Looking at the FIFA Men's Rankings we can see that there's not much difference between these two sides. Russia being 70th and Saudi Arabia 67th.
What To Expect
There will be a lot of pressure on the home side. Entire Russia is expecting an easy win but with the current team, I don't see it happening. They'll probably win, but the odds are way too short for me to back them up.
Russia will attack hard and keep the pressure on Saudis. But after the initial shock, I expect Saudis to gain some confidence and start counter-attacking.
This match can end up in a draw, even in a surprising victory for the Saudis. It's really hard to justify the short odds on the home side. They aren't playing well and they're under an enormous pressure to perform. It could break them.
Nobody is really expecting the Saudis to win and if they manage to survive the initial attack, they can start creating some good scoring opportunities.

I do like the BTTS bet but my bookie does not offer it.
Over 1.5 would be another possible good bet, because we have to go way back to find an opening game of the world cup where there were less than 2 goals!

Can't you open a bet365 account? Are they blocked in Belgium?
I could use my Unibet account but I have decided to play all WC bets on Nitrogin! Silly me with my own restrictions :)
Bet365 is blocked in Belgium according to me, but I don't know for sure. In Belgium you are only allowed if you also have a real live shop in the country or are affiliated with a casino, like Bwin is.
I know the feeling, I've closed all the accounts I still had and bet just with my local bookie. They aren't that good, but for the btts they offer even higher odds than Pinnacle (@2.64)

Russia is not that good looking from their friendly that match will not be an easy one I see lot of cards and corner kicks in that game.
Prediction :over8.5 corner or play over 2.5cards .
It will be a heated game, especially if Russia fails to score early (or if the Saudis score first).
