Only one of my miniature rose bushes survived this past winter. After the rainfall early this morning, I noticed just how dreamy this flower looked, and decided to photograph it with my macro lens wide open at f/2.8 to create a very shallow depth of field. That meant that I had to be especially careful where I placed my focus point. Do you agree with my choice?
Check out the rules for the #rosesopenweekend contest here. Thanks to @adrianobalan and @sardrt of @petals for this neat contest!
Thanks for taking the time to read this! I appreciate it. Please check out my photography-101 account here for tips and tutorials about photography.
i like it!
This is such a beautiful shot! I do agree with your choice as it is so lovely. On a side note I am sad that only one of your rose bushes survived!
Thanks! Oh, I only had a handful of the miniature ones, and they had been growing for years! Roses are not terrible easy to grow in Florida - mainly because of the heat, but it was the cold winter that was the culprit this time!
As a fellow Floridian I know the woes of growing through the different "seasons". Northerners say we don't have seasons. We do. They last a day or two. LOL.
I am a gardener. My next post is going to be about how all our fruits and vegetables are doing here. I already posted one. You should check it out!
Beautiful Rose and a lovely Haiku

Nice selection of lens you got there. One day i will buy this Canon 100mm macro lens. :D
Yes, it's my favorite. I have had it for years now and couldn't be without it!
I'm gonna buy this lens as soon as i can. And it's pretty good lens for portrait photography as well. :)
Yes, it is quite versatile!
I love your mixes of haiku and photography - you are very skilled on both! Wonderful picture and the poetry really enriches the experience! Keep up the awesome good work!
