Is protest a solution to the problems
Currently in India there is too much unrest going on with issues in the Education system and one of the leaders has gone on a hunger strike. While this whole movement started for a very good cause but now it's going into another direction only and the real issue is somewhere getting diluted. Last few days there were very major protest in the capital city of India, and the police took very harsh actions. There are mixed responses to this whole situation. Some people say that they were doing peaceful protest and the police attacked them because they wanted to end up this whole movement.
Before the protest there was a plea for people to come in large numbers to support the protest on 20th July. People came in huge numbers but some of them came with their own agendas. They had slogans which were not in alignment of the movement. I can say quite a chaos, what started as a peaceful movement has now become a rage, so many people beaten up by the police, so many politicians and actors joining for their own agendas and publicity. And rather there any positive outcome this whole movement is now a mess.
The intention was good and the actions were also but it got diluted somewhere and it became violent. None of the demands are yet accepted. The people in power who have to make decisions on this matter are all silent. The police is taking hard actions. So where does this all lead to. I really am not in a position to say if there was any other way to deal with it. The government people in authority have been silent after so much of violence and chaos so I am guessing any other peaceful dialogues would have not concluded with any result and they would have all gone to deaf ears. So to an extent yes this movement is important but now the way it's going is not very positive.
