I think you're right about that for the most part, but then I start comparing them with myself and wonder if most people just don't have the time. I have written a few posts that are original work, all the others @davidisfedup are resteems of articles I find interesting. Currently I am working on my next post about my trip to the King Tut exhibit here in Los Angeles. It's taking me some time because I am learning new ways to format my posts.

As far as people not having the time to comment, I think they are probably a smaller percentage than that of those who are just lacking critical thinking skills and the motivation/determination to put half an ounce of effort in to anything they create online. Steemit, most importantly and specifically.
For myself at least, I find it essential to engage the authors of a post that I find interesting. A lot of times my comments will go seemingly unnoticed but I like to feel that I made a genuine effort (in most cases).
Sure, it can be time consuming to make the effort, but the time invested can create opportunities, friends, and engagements you hadn't previously thought possible.
Hahaha, 'yea you right' has been my goto agreeable reply for txt msgs and small talk for years. People I know, can hear me say it and understand what I mean but people I don't know, are curious at first until we meet and it usually helps breaks the ice. Great work, Thank you
