Great question! With Steemit, I don't see that as being a problem at all! It is because of how Steemit has built their reputation system, and operates with transparency. Remember, I wrote that article in 2014, so it was meant to be a throwback and DEFINITELY not imply that Steemit lacks trust. If anything, I believe the exact opposite, and have written as such.
