No offense bro, but how exactly is this adding value to the steemit community? I know that some minnow would love to get an extra $5 for practically doing nothing, but doesn't that set a bad example? Usually contests are about adding more unique and valuable content, or engaging the users in a challenge of some sort. This doesn't seem to fit that criteria.
Firstly, it is helping the steemit community to better see my awesome content (which it really is) by people resteeming to enter the draw.
Secondly, #thealliance is a unique group of people who are a cut above and this is who we are aiming to help. It just happens to be open to the rest of steemit!
Hey no problem, I agree, I've actually been following you and others that are also in the #thealliance. I just didn't get what the point was for this "contest" specifically. You said to resteem this post for an entry and in this post you said: "You can enter as many times as you want to increase your odds of winning!" This seems kind of spammy (maybe i'm totally wrong) however, to each his own. I was just curious and figured I would ask you specifically what value this adds, not call you out... Steem on!
By multiple entries, it means each post i make during a contest period has the ability to get resteemed by a person so if I make 5 posts a week, a single person could get 5 entries by resteeming all 5 posts
Cool, that makes sense. My only suggestion would be: Have the contestants contribute something of value themselves (picture, post, comment, etc.) as well as a resteem of the original author's post VS simply resteeming everything by said author (for a valid entry). Here's an example of a contest I recently participated in, similar to what I'm suggesting above. I'm not saying every contest HAS to be like this one, just something to consider. In order for Steemit to continue being the success it's already become, it's our duty to incentivize the creation of ORIGINAL, and QUALITY content from users of ALL SP levels. I'm sure you feel the same. Here's a great post I read this morning that goes further into detail about ALL of OUR responsibilities here.
@jschindler just read the comment by the winner below. This is the essence of what we are doing. Its not about randoms and someone else's benefit. You gotta be a part of the alliance to understand and getting in ain't easy!
