🌶🌶 My NEW own recipe for a homemade Red Hot Chili Paste! (English only) 🌶🌶

in #recipe8 years ago (edited)

Yesterday I have made a new recipe for my own homemade red hot chili paste and I want to present you my results. I made the paste with tomatoes from my balcony and this time in addition with sweet peppers too, so it is a Sweet-Pepper-Tomatoe-Chili-Paste and it´s really delicious + very HOT. 🍎🌶😋 You can add red hot chili paste to any dishes to create some heat and to boost the flavor. This time I added garlic in the paste too. 👍

Components of the recipe:

  • Red hot chili peppers 🌶🌶🌶
  • Onions (about 1-2)
  • Garlic (as many as you like) 🌰🌰🌰
  • Tomatoes 🍅🍅
  • Sweet pepper
  • 2 tablespoons vinegar
  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • Basil, rosemary and other herbs you like (parsley for example) 🌿
  • Olive oil to extend its shelf life.

Here you can see the uncutted chilis from my balcony and the three chilis below, are the new ones:

Procedure:

Step 1: First of all: Put on gloves!

Cut the onions, garlic, sweet peppers, the hot chili peppers, basil, rosemary and other herbs into small pieces. If you don´t want it to hot, remove the seeds of the chilis. Then saute the onions with 2 teaspoons sugar in a pot and caramelize it a little bit. (Pay attention, that it don´t get burnt!)

Step 2: Add the chilis, tomatoes, garlic and sweet pepper. Add some water and spice up everything with salt. (About 1 teaspoon) Cook it with medium heat and don´t forget the cooking top, because the vapor can hurt your eyes and the spiciness could escape. When everything is cooked (soft), add 2 tablespoons vinegar and puree everything with an immersion blender.

Step 3: Now add the fine cutted herbs like basil, parsley, rosemary and any other herbs you like. Then fill the chili paste in clean glasses and close them fast.

Step 4: Put the glasses in the oven and boil the paste down at about 80 °C for 45 minutes. After the 45 minutes just add some olive oil to the top, for longer shelf life and put them into your refrigerator, after the glasses cooled down. Ready: Enjoy the delicious chili paste to any dishes!
