Readers Reward Project - Compensating lurkers
Now solving the inequality between authors, commenters and lukers in our digital work platform.
The problem
Steemit is made so we can monetize our content. This means we need readers and viewers, but they don't get any incentive to go through the trouble of registering and staying connected. It's much easier for them to go to any other site to satisfy their news itch instead.
Comparing authors, commenters and lurkers, we can easily see who pulled the shortest possible straw:
Authors
Using bidbots fixes payments. As long as your work is good, you won't get blacklisted. There are also lots of curation groups who can fit in good writers. Member interaction is just fine. If you don't get comments, you're either not writing enough comments or you're following the wrong people.
Commenters
Even if you don't post, you can find the right authors who upvote their followers whenever they speak up. Being a part of their fanbase is good fun and specially rewarding for the newer members who don't plan to invest money on the platform.
Lurkers
So everyone has a chance, except for the lurkers. People who upvote but don't comment or post. They're very important members who need to get more benefits out of using steemit. Not everyone is a "people's person", and they shouldn't suffer penalties for this. If you're a lurker, you're being the least rewarded member of our community.
'Readers Reward', effective immediately
For every new post beginning with this one, I will immediatelly comment " #readersreward 20 " where 20 is how many lurkers I will reward for that post. I will send 0.002 SBD to the (in this case 20) lowest value upvotes from lurkers on that comment.
If you want to participate, this is what you should do:
- Whenever I post something you like, find my comment below it that says #readersreward.
- Upvote it instead of the main post if it's not 7 days old yet.
Once the post gets it's payout, I will send you 0.002 SBD for this, probably tripling your rewards. Thank you for reading my work!

#readersreward 20 - upvote if you lurk
This is a great idea @felipejoys. Up until very recently I was voting with pure dust and trying to be positive with others that have started out exactly like I have. Built up with the base account and no personal funds added. Then I find out my vote meant NOTHING. I looked at it wrong. It was easy to start thinking hold on for the 'great' post and make a difference. Then of course @dustsweeper comes along and helps immensely, I figured out, even though your vote might be dust and not worth the air you breathe. It's the intent and purpose behind an upvote. This group seems to get frustrated easier, so to me they need a little extra love. The upvote to them is symbolic. The comment adds validation.
For a poster to interact with their fan base and commenters is essential when a good portion of your base is in lurker/commenter mode. It's like coaxing a shy person to be outgoing. I can be done, but takes time.
And what incentive can there be when the earned cents suddenly disappear somewhere. For example, the day before yesterday was for a photo $ 0 .03, yesterday $ 0 .02, today $ 0 .00. Where do they go, you can explain this to me.

Post rewards go up and down with STEEM value for the last 7 days. If STEEM price dropped, so your rewards dropped too.

It's the price of the STEEM cryptocurrency. Unless you are a multi-millionaire, there isn't much you can do immediately. The best we can do is: make very good posts and upvote very good posts from other people.
Also - @setik-001 steemit doesn't pay out anything under .02 cents. Check out the @dustsweeper initiative, its purpose is to fix that situation!
