Qurator's Photo Friday #96 | Phnom Penh | Beauty of Monuments

I've never been to Cambodia before so when I was asked by my Boss to accompany her to Phnom Penh, how could I say no. After all, I've just started work so it only makes sense for me to join her. It also allowed us to get to know each other better.

Driving around town today, I managed to see the surrounding city area. Since it is still an undeveloped country and only surviving by the aids from other neighboring countries, poverty is seen everywhere.

It's main religion is Buddhism which has been in the Cambodian state religion since the 13th century. As of 2010 it was estimated that 96.9 percent of the population was Buddhist, and is currently estimated to be the faith of 95% of the population in Cambodia.

Here I have one of the significant Buddhist monuments build at the heart of the city of Phnom Penh.
