Qurator's Photo Friday Competition #99 - Wadi Rum
This photo was taken in the Wadi Rum desert in Jordan. The sun is setting and creates the play of dark and light areas on the rocks. The man in the midle is standing as a small silhouette against the light part of the rock. Wadi Rum is also known as the Moon Valley - a deserted valley located at 1600 meters above sea level in a mountainous area formed by granite and sandstone in southern Jordan. This protected area of is the first mixed site declared as a World Heritage Site (2011) by UNESCO in Jordan.
