Quasar also known as Wendell Elvis Vaughn , is a graduate of S.H.I.E.L.D. Academy. His first assignment after he graduated is to protect scientist from a research facility where a band of scientist assault the facility and causing him to wear the band where he reserves energy within the band.Starting that day he used the name Marvel Boy and later he changed it to Quasar.Source here
