Forgiveness is Liberating

Asking for or giving forgiveness requires strength. Forgiveness is something only the strong of heart can understand at its truest meaning. The ones who practice forgiveness stand out as gems in a world that is seething with vengefulness. We need to teach our kids what it means to forgive and ask for forgiveness rather than how to get things right each time.

In the rat-race that human life now is, values have largely been forgotten. Success at any cost is emphasised. The end alone is considered as if the means don't matter.

The means we use to achieve our ends are a refection of who we are as people. Values are important. Very important... Among the most important among them is forgiveness.

Forgiveness is liberating both to the one who receives it and the one who gives it. The one who receives it is freed of the burden of a misdeed. The one who gives it is freed of the chains of anger and the need for revenge. Believe me, holding back forgiveness from another never did anyone any good. One needs to be generous, even wasteful with forgiveness. Once it is possessed, the supply never runs out. It is a spring that constantly renews itself, healing and spreading love and strength in the process.

Forgiveness is a ray of light in a dark reality.

If you have been holding a grudge against anyone, make the decision to work toward forgiving them. Your life is too precious to ruin it by allowing a grudge to reside within you long term.
