Spring Awakening - My Way to the Shaman
How to become a shaman?
Well, this is a good question, unfortunately, the answer is somewhat sobering. One is not by himself a shaman, but a shaman from the time of initiation or vocation. According to Tuvinian shamans, there are only 3 times to become a shaman, with 7, 11 or 41 years. There are also the hereditary shamans, who had a shaman in the family, and were raised as a shaman from a small age. Shamans are both sexes, in some cultures rather feminine, e.g. in Korea. There are cultures all over the world where shamans have important roles.
The term shamanism is of recent origin and is the attempt to understand the science of this phenomenon. Shamans prefer to speak of a shamanhood (Rusian: shamanstwo, Deutsch: Schamanentum) that defines a localized space with the associated rituals. Each shaman has his own way of working, a union with other shamans usually does not take place. The exception of this is the Republic of Tuva in southern Siberia. After 70 years of repression, the perestroika recognized Shamanism with Buddhism as the two official religions in the early 1990s, and has since been promoted by the state.
The World Health Organization has confirmed shamanism as a functioning healing system in the cultures in which it is rooted. Equipped with this information, my interest in visiting this country was growing ever greater and in 2004 I broke up to my first trip there. In my posts about the trip you can make yourself a picture of it.
My path of music began at the age of 5 on the flute, and I was not able to talk till the age of 28, because a great shock, I stuttered terribly. As if by a miracle, I finally found out about African drums and after 14 days of practicing my stutter had disappeared. This of course has led to a total change for me and since then the healing effect of music is my topic. In a short time I got to know Didgeridoo, overtone singing, mouth harp and singing bowls.
I would now like to introduce you to one of the many projects that have led me ever more towards shamans.
Spring Awakening
With Abdul Ghani and Herbert Wagner
Abdul Ghani was a member of the leading Pakistani music ensemble - the Sabri Brothers, who have been entertaining people around the world with their Quawwali for 40 years. The Quawwali-called devotional music arises from the mystical soul of Islam, Sufism.
The aim of this music is the ecstasy of the mind as a climax of spiritual experience. The confession of breaking religious and national boundaries and penetrating the core of spirituality in the human soul connects the two musicians.
To the Pakistani double drum Dholak are played Didgeridoo, overtone singing, singing bowls, Harmonium, mouth harp and African drums by Herbert Wagner.
A music that can and should skip.
We have played several concerts over a period of 2 years until Abdul traveled to Pakistan and has not been able to leave since then. Although he had work in Germany and family plans.
Our preparations for the concerts can be described as completely inadequate, we have played my instruments one after the other with the drum together for a few minutes to see if it fits in any way, no structures, no songs, just nothing. Just the certainty that it will fit in some way. And it has fit! Never since then did I have such a joy and total uncertainty at the same time what will happen in the next second. Sufi music goes off very slowly, gets faster and slower again, sometimes also very quickly faster and very fast slower, the mind no longer comes along and finally falls into the state of ecstasy.

I like this topic!
I will make a lot more posts about it. And there are some in my blog already there.
I think shamanism exists somewhere in human beings.
I am scared but I admit shamanism.
I am here to tell about shaman things. Do not be scared. Harmony is the main goal which all shamans want to achieve. I had some easy techniques of music yoga in my blog, it is perfect to start with. And it is easy. Just a few minutes needed.
