Mini Motivation #31 - Stop comparing yourself against other Steemians
Damn, she already got so many followers, and she started on Steemit after me!
Argh! His post is being upvoted by [Insert whale's name here]? Again? How come I'm not being upvoted?
Wow, already a minnow is such a short time? What am I doing wrong?
Ever heard that being said before? If it's the voices of others, then you're good. Have an awesome day and keep on steeming!
Oh, it's your voice? You are saying those things to yourself? Hmph, let's work on that.
There's no escape, Steemit can be a competitive platform. Steem Power, Followers, Upvotes, Curation, Payouts, Reputations… there are many factors that can cause someone's meteoric rise here. And of course, just like a normal rocket, as it zoom passed you, it's very hard to not notice it.
Or get affected by it. The jealousy, the envy. That's when sneaky thoughts creep in, polluting your mind, affecting your game. Heck, you would even be blaming yourself because you think you "suck".
The truth is, we may never know the other background factors that contributed to one Steemian's success.
Perhaps she already have a strong following elsewhere? That's years of hard work. I'm pretty sure, in other areas of your life, you've laboured for success too, and would like to be acknowledged for it, right?
Perhaps he has the support of an established Steemian? That's why networking is important, and I'm pretty sure in life, there are a couple of person you know whom have opened the door or lifted you up, right?
Perhaps what they wrote are resonating with the crowd? That's where you can research more and take that as insight. Success leaves a trail, so just retrace the steps.
The truth is, stop comparing yourself, or worst, judging yourself against the success of others. You and I know it's not gonna lead anywhere. Instead, research their success, and see if there are any strategies you can incorporate into your own Steemit success.

I am a critical person and very subjective (I don't think anyone can really be objective) and when I see a bad post (bad by my criteria of course) which is upvoted many times, I sometimes get discouraged. But when I see an excellent post, well written, interesting and educational I am happy that it is popular, it restores my faith in humanity and our good judgment.
Patience is a virtue here on steemit but so is quality. If you write good posts you will sooner or later be rewarded.

Sometimes we can't help envying others.
Because someone else has what we want. And I think it's okay coz it's in our nature, isn't it? So an important tip you left here is Success leaves a trail and from myself, Geniuses leave clues.
If we started envying others, look for their trails and clues. Study them, as detailed as possible. And find out their roots of success.
I had this idea as I'm writing this. I think I'm going to select a few to study :)

Yup, to a certain degree, having jealousy is good, as long as we don't get consumed by it. Sometimes we see others doing something we thought we couldn't do ourselves, and by their actions, we become inspired.
No, it'll never be a disappointment because everyone has something good to share to others. It depends on the writers how they look at things and write them out ;)
We thought we couldn't do is our own self-created limitation d. I once read a book said If someone can do, you can do it too! and I wanna believe this is true.
