Today I read the news about the country of Venezuela, it turns out their country is really poorer than Indonesia. The richest country in South America, now turned into a poor country.

Venezuela experienced the highest rate of inflation in the world. During the year to the end of February 2018, prices in Venezuela jumped by more than 6,000%, according to the National Assembly's estimates, which are dominated by opposition groups.

The country is experiencing an economic crisis and many of its citizens have struggled to feed their families. About 500 Venezuelan women seek food by stabbing the Tachira Country border with neighboring Colombia. One woman told the Colombian media: "We are depressed, we have nothing: no cooking oil, no sugar, no rice."

Leonard Altamar one of them. The 41-year-old plumber is now only willing to work if the client orders his services to pay for it with food.

"I just finished fixing the dishwasher and I got paid spaghetti and a bit of meat, I've started to get paid like this since September 2017. At least my family can eat a little," said Altamar as quoted from Miamiherald, Tuesday (16/1 / 2018).

A 26-year-old designer, Jose Leon, took advantage of the paper money. He drew the face of a Star Wars character on a banknote featuring pictures of a number of Venezuelan figures. The foreign buyer paid his artwork up to US $ 20, around Rp 270 thousand, for each piece of 'money art' which he said raised the value of the notes almost 5,000 percent. The thousands of desperate Venezuelans are now trying to get into Colombia in an effort to avoid hunger and crime rates that are soaring due to the economic crisis.

In January 2018, Venezuelans in several cities reportedly looted a number of grocery stores to survive and meet daily food needs. On January 9, for example, a crowd of hungry people reportedly looted a grocery store in the town of Puerto Ordaz until it was completely destroyed. all the looters picked up, from frozen meat, soy sauce, to cash at the cash register, "Want to cry, we're headed into a chaotic situation," said shopkeeper Luis Felipe Anatael, confirming the incident to The Guardian .
