STEEMIT HEROES - CEBU

  @fernwehninja @itinerantph @jassennessaj @themanualbot @bellatravelph  @purepinay @tegoshei and i believe the entire team of @steemph.cebu

You know, we live in a selfish world , very selfish for that matter. Too selfish that we do not like to share with the next person the secret to our success, little tips that make our lives better. All in fear that, that person will do better than us. I am yet to also meet a person that will promote and share a certain platform, company/organization without a particular benefit/bonus to derive from it. Yet i dont think any of the above mentioned do what they do expecting anything in return. we are also often very selfish with our time, and for someone to offer their most valuable time dedicated to a certain course to empower human kind without expecting anything in return is the kind of heroes  our modern society needs.

Some of the people i mentioned above are dedicated volunteers at spreading the steemit gospel to just anyone who cares to listen . @jassennessaj particularly told me its something he does frequently in his University. @fernwehninja is ever ready to answer my inquisitive questions even in the wee hours of the morning about this platform and seems to do it effortlessly. wow, just wooow.

why am i saying this?

This awesome group of humans recently organized a 6th steemit bloggers meet up in Cebu that was a huge success. am not talking about a meet up of like minded steemians to get to know each other over some food and drinks. They gathered a mass of non steemians and conducted a full blown lecture  in powerpoint about steemit. They also set aside a group of noobs (like me) to enlighten more about the platform and generally exchanging good vibes, encouraging everyone on their steemit journey, lifting hopes for those whose growth on the platform is somewhat slow. They are all living proof of STEEMIT success and growth.

you can read about the Cebu 6th meet up blogs from these awesome  steemians bellow:

Those are just of the few that i could quickly find, but they will give you a clear over view of what a hype that was. pure awesomeness.  According to @fernwehninja  ,  their main goal is to engage in the Internationals, Family, Students, Professionals,  Reach out to the Communities and connect to NGO's. they aim to help  everyone as much as possible.

I therefore would like to dedicate this post to applauding you guys for a job well done, thanking you for what you dowhile expecting nothing in return, people like you is what we need in this selfish world.

Empowering people especially the youth through this platform is grand splendid. why do i say so?

1) most of the youths are youth  energetic brain boxes that that have valuable information, it will encourage them to spend their spare time researching and writing potentially quality and useful content.  this for sure will derive them from spending time doing this and that.

2) The monetary bonus will enable a lot of students to be financially  independent. no matter how little an amount is earned here,  it goes a long way. because  no matter how little, when converted to Philippine peso its something tangible , even if it will help with just a few basic needs.

there are so many  other reasons that i dont want to bore you with.

@jassennessaj once showed me his balance on Coins.ph of a handsome amount of Philippine pesos that he was saving for his tuition fees from his steemit earnings. i looked at him in awe. I wish i had such an opportunity while i was still in school.

As a foreign student in the Philippines, by law you are not allowed to engage in gainful earnings in the country. This prohibits many students from getting employment to make an extra penny, all support supposed to come from home.

I know a lot of students (including my self), who chose to study abroad, not because its cheaper for us but because it is favorable. With all financial support coming from home, this gets very hard  sometimes as things are not always green at home, infact they get really worse. some foreign students forced to skip a semester or more because their parents have failed to raise the funds needed, sometimes  forced to go hungry or survive on bread and water since they have not received money from home, this is very limiting.

With a platform like this, we can encourage to uplift them.

My suggestion for this summer.

i am thinking of holding a steem promotion event or some sort of tutor/mentoring in Southwestern university either towards the end of this semester (March) or beginning of summer, or even sooner. Invite students , foreign and locals alike. and who knows, maybe we go around universities in Cebu spreading the  gospel. what do you guys think? drop a comment below.

Thanx for passing by

xoxo

What you say is very true people can be selfish and only think about themselves, but i think as a community on here its fantastic to keep others informed because at present there is very little in the way of books and learning material about Steemit, thank you, followed and upvoted

Great post and good suggestion for summer @purpletanzanite . :) Good luck with with and hope to meet you next meet up :)

Hi @Joancabz, thanx and hope to meet u too next time.

Didn't know international students encounter such problems too. When I was in university, I always wonder how great their life can be here knowing they can afford almost everything. Anyhow, I hope I can be able to be part of your summer plan. I'm hungry for more knowledge!

Oh, they go through same struggles my dear, some even worse.
Thankmu for passing by.

Great post and the meet up sounded like a lot of fun as well as being informative
