Another big milestone has been clinched by the Cebu community in joining the oldest,biggest, grandest and nothing but the best festival in the country which is Sinulog Festival 2018. Steemph.Cebu has taken the lead in organizing and putting tremendous hard work just to make the event successful.

WHAT IS SINULOG FESTIVAL?

It's basically a religious event which honors our patron Santo Nino through dancing. The street dance represents the flow of the current by harmoniously pumping of the drums. (Sulog in layman's term). The parade of Filipino celebrities , unique themes and colorful costumes of the participants from different regions of the Philippines, street dance, tribal and cultural dance competitions were the main highlights of the event.

Hundreds of thousands devotees and tourists from different provinces and countries took part in this grandest event. The event has officially started around ten o'clock in the morning. Despite of the drizzly weather, it didn't make each and everyone less motivated and energetic to perform in front of many people. The show has indeed gone on.

The event was fun-filled by our fellow steemians who brought good vibes and rendered their respective talents and skills such as free face painting, henna tattoo , proving free fliers as promotion of the community, photo booths and free bottled waters and breads. There were more than 30 steemians coming in and out the station getting to know with other people in the community whom most of them are from far places.

An attendance sheet was provided in order to gather all the account usernames for we can easily support each and everyone, be added in the community group chats and pages and be added in our communal account's auto voter.

We provided fliers to the passers by and tried to give them a little bit of information about the platform. Many of them were interested and will be visiting the website and hopefully they would create an account soon. It gives you a different feeling when you are able to share an opportunity that would surely make a difference in someone's lives. Thanks to the help of these amazing people who confidently shared the platform to a lot of strangers.

It's my first time and definitely the most memorable Sinulog celebration by far. I have gained a lot of realizations in life, met different people from different walks of life and happened to have forged friendships with. I am able cast my potentials as a person who have high hopes and dreams in life. I have learned to value myself and others. I have discovered some of my weaknesses and strengths. Most importantly I am able to share opportunities to others and motivate and inspire them in my very little way.

This photo reminds of those days when I was at high school. I was one of the tribal dancers representing our school in this kind of festival competition in our hometown.

This year , once again I was able to witness this miraculous celebration and truly had a lot of fun and so enamored of the energy and vibrancy of the Festival and the people.
