Hi Steemians,

This is the second post of a series of posts with the uncountable reasons to Power Up your Steem. Looking forward to your feedback and ideas on it.

Lets start with Reason 2.

Reason #2: You can Earn Interest by Delegating Steem Power

This reason is a very important reason to invest on Steem Power. One of the things you can do when you hold Steem Power, is delegating it to projects, but to good projects that are adding quality and value to the Steem Blockchain.

If we will delegate and want to earn interests, lets do it the good way, because by doing so, we will benefit Steem in the long run. If more quality and more value is added to the blockchain, the more we will see the value of Steem go up.

When we delegate to a certain project (I will explain how to delegate in a future post), we put the Steem to work for us and create a passive income. For instance, with 1000 SP we can get around 0.85 to 1 liquid SBD/Steem a day. This is around 30 SBD a month, which is 3% of our initial investment of SP in just a month? Isn't it a good return?

When we delegate, the control over the SP is always ours, this means we can cancel a delegation whenever we want. What it will happen is that we will loose the liquid rewards of the day we cancel, and also, it will take 7 days, until this SP we undelegated, will be available on our account. It is in our control, but it needs this period of time, to avoid users gaming the system I believe.

There are many quality projects we can delegate and earn interest. Some good projects are: @smartsteem , @isotonic , @utopian-io .

A huge project to delegate is @steem-ambassador created by @starkerz , @stephenkendal and @anarcotech. The #promo-steem team is currently working on the guild and once the ROI and interest gains explanation is ready, I will post about it. This is a huge project because voluntarysts around the world are spreading the word on the Steem Blockchain hugely, and they are receiving lots of rewards from the community and users for doing so. When the @steem-ambassador guild delegation sponsor earnings information is ready, I am sure, lots of people will start delegating on it.

To learn more about promo steem and the @steem-ambassador guild, you can visit www.promo-steem.com and also check the @steem-ambassador and @promo-steem posts which are the ones upvoted by the @steem-ambassador guild.

Looking forward to your thoughts!

Regards, @gold84

Great post @gold84!! Upvoted and resteemed! We have some work to do to automate this, but I’m sure we can pull resources to do it ;) thanks for ur support!

Thanks for your support @starkerz !

@toofasteddie below has adapted an open source code of another bot, to make @isotonic that is a voting bot, which earnings go for the running project, which is a sport community project to reward people who like running and make posts about it.

Phenomenal post, and we really appreciate you talking about delegating to @steem-ambassador. We are getting closer and closer to releasing some serious updates about the #promo-steem initiative, including how delegations will be handled and how they will earn rewards for those who choose to delegate to us. Also, our work is designed to reward promoters of STEEM and humanitarian voluntaryists and educators all over the world. We can only do this with the help of delegators, and we want them to understand that it's totally in their own interests to do so, whilst they are helping do amazing work all around the world that alleviates poverty and increases peoples standards of living.

Great this is helping @anarcotech ! Seems @yabapmatt can help with the code and server. We can discuss that with him, regarding the bot for the guild.

Thanks for mentioning @isotonic man!!!
Good post!

@toofasteddie did you program @isotonic ?
Do u know anyone who can do this? (Write code to send curation rewards each day to delegators)

Regards, @gold84

Yes, I set up the program, actually you can do as well if you have certain knowledge of Linux...
There is no secret, just have a look at this link: https://github.com/MattyIce/postpromoter

@toofasteddie , I do not have knowledge about Linux, not much. How much time would it take you make this for another account? And what do you need to do it?

Regards, @gold84

May I ask you what will be the scope of the service? que es exactamente lo que quieres hacer @gold84?

Regards, @gold84

I will be looking at this. If it's already been built and is open source, I will be making sure I don't reinvent the wheel. It's on my (ever growing) list of stuff to do. Great work @toofasteddie!!!!

So you know Spanish @anarcotech !

Hi @toofasteddie you are welcome! I believe the running community is a good initiave and want to help.

Regards, @gold84

I started a small delegation a couple of weeks ago and have been wondering 2 things:

(1) does delegating impact my curation rewards? I ask because I have enjoyed the return on the delegation and would add more but want to make sure if it has any impact to my curations or author rewards.

(2) Can I delegate to more than one account? Or must I choose only one to delegate to. I ask because I believe in diversifying so would like to spread out to a couple of users/projects I believe in.

Thanks for your continued help on this journey!

@newageinv here are the answers:
1 - yes, because your curation rewards are based on your total SP available (the one you delegate is available for the project you delegate, and on return you get your payouts in liquid SBD and Steem).

2- You can delegate to as many accounts you want. Just remember, if you decide to undelegate, it will take 1 week for your SP undelegated to be available in your account.

Regards, @gold84

i didn’t know nothing about these projects, u are making me understand many things mister mutenroshi! Als seus peus 🙇🏼‍♂️

hhahahha! segur que t'estas referint a la mateixa persona?

i didn’t be knowledgeable about nil about these projects, u are building me cotton on a lot of gear mister mutenroshi! Als seus peus

We have recently looking into this now our SP is over the 500 mark but this is only possible with some delegations I have already received. It's hard to decide who and what's best.

I’m new here so this information is like gold for me! Thanks dude! ☺️

For a lazy person like myself :D passive income is what I'm trying to achieve but with only 45 Steem Power I can't really afford to delegate right now. Focusing on increasing my Steem Power. Slow and steady wins the race.
