Steem Charity in Action: Give a man some STEEM and you feed him for a day, teach a man Steemit.com and you feed him for a lifetime. PROJECT UPDATE
So I launched a charity effort to help people help themselves by providing a computer to some folks at a school in Venezuela so the folks there could use steemit.com to make money to help them eat and do things like that. I was inspired by seeing all the things @bigdude was doing there. This is the post that inspired me and you can see the discussion it led to.
There was a tremendous response from the steemit.com community to this call for charity with only a little trolling on my behalf the post earned 16.07 SBD and 7.58 SP in rewards, also there was a total of 10 SBDs in donations, 5 each from @nxtblg and @stevescoins. This was not quite the 40 SBD we were going for so I decided to make up the difference whatever it is. (STEEM rewards math is not my strong suit) and I have made two payments to @bigdude of 17.50 SBD in addition to a 5 SBD donation from @nxtblg to make 40.
With the declining price of STEEM and constant hyperinflation in Venezeula I fear it may not be enough but I got a additional 6 SBd pledge from @starkerz so hopefully that can make up the difference.
