Promo-Steem tag is now in the top 100 all time tags!!!
This is an amazing milestone! Today we passed the threshold for payouts, and I'm pleased to announce that #promo-steem is officially in the TOP 100 ALL TIME TAGS on the platform.
We launched this tag really back in about late october 2017, so it's really only 3 months old. And in that time, it's risen so rapidly that it's fast becoming one of the big kids on the block.
In the last 9 days, it's grown another 25%, and In the last month, it's more than doubled!!!
As of the time of this post, the amount of SBD paid out to posts using this tag was over 153,000.
That's not all. #promo-steem is the 84th most popular tag used (a total of 3709 posts have used the #promo-steem tag), and in 44th place for tags used in comments (at a staggering 4851).
Bear in mind that these are ALL TIME statistics, and as promo-steem is pretty new compared to most of the others, it's clear to see just how fast this growth really is. We really are top of the pops (or tags) now, and I'm looking forward to the countdown to see how quickly it continues to move up the rankings to the top 20 all time tags.
Why is it growing so much?
People are massively adding to the blockchain by bringing whole communities into it. They are solving so many problems of poverty and lack of access to financial service out in developing nations, and the STEEM blockchain allows them to earn often much more than they could working for the man.
We are seeing a movement of people who regard themselves as part of a voluntaryist movement, who see the blockchain solving real-world problems. These are smart people, who've figured out already that the STEEM truly is the number one blockchain for its' properties of speed, cost, capacity and transparency.
The more we promote the platform, and bring new users in, the more we will raise the price of STEEM. We have a huge opportunity not only to make money and redistribute wealth where it's most needed, but also to bring the blockchain to the masses through widespread adoption. It might well be young, but it's so much bigger than Bitcoin, Ethereum, and in fact every other blockchain out there. And not by just a little bit either!
So, promoting STEEM is probably one of the most important things you can do. It doesn't matter whether you are speaking at big conferences, or just telling your mates in the pub. We don't care if you are making high end flashy videos, or holding up a hand-written sign. If you are turning people onto STEEM, you are helping everyone, and we support you.

Our next target
I'm targetting 300,000 SBD being raised by this tag by the end of March. If we can do that (and based on past performance, I think it's perfectly possible) then we are in a phenomenal position. We are starting to attract the attention of some whales now, and we want to remind everyone that the very real work at the backend of building the promo-steem.com website and the Steem Ambassador programme is complicated, huge and very time consuming. We are doing our best, but we cannot do it all overnight, so please do bear with us whilst we get all the projects in place. Like all good things, it takes time to deliver the goods, but we are getting there.

3 months old? Really? This is a massive achievement indeed! Wow! I cannot imagine the amount of time effort and work you guys must be putting in at the back end but I must say a huge thank you on behalf of the Nigerian Steemit community. You are right, Nigerian are really on fire for steemit, it's getting sweeter and crazier daily, I look forward to millions of Nigerians on steemit.
If #promo-steem continue to grow so fast, it will be the number one tag in terms of rewards and usage! Seriously, cosidering that it's a fairly new tag, it's doing absolutely amazing. It has no boundaries or limitations, at least it seems so!
Yeah. I mean, it's got a long long way to go before it gets to the top 10, but I reckon we have a real fighting chance of being in the top 50 tags in the next 6 months or so. I'm absolutely astounded by what's happening.

What a journey and what an exciting journey to come. We are taking it to the Moon and having Steem turn a legal tender. Yaaaay!
I'm excited to see #promo-steem among these top tags, some of these tags are far older than our there #promo-steem.
I believe we will surpass these guys and get into the top 10 in few weeks.
This figure is really achievable as more people are seeing the need to promote steemit daily.

All i can say is promo-steem is jxt superb
I think we should forget about the figures and talk more about the amount of people reached at this short period of time, this wil strengthen us more on promotion.
I am so amazed with how far we have come, thereis no other way to be grateful here on steemit. Let's keep promoting the platform and we will be surprised what the promo-steem tag can do.
One more thing @anarcotech, any ideaabout the ambassadorshp programme ? I am just curious and want to know more.
That is of course another way of viewing it. As for the steem-ambassador programme we have literally had tons of applications. we will be going through them, and it takes some time, but we will be on it and have it all nailed soon. We will keep you posted of course.
