GOODBYE LOVE HANDLES! - Fasting, Fat, Food & Fitness UPDATE

A week ago I published a post asking for feedback from all of you peeps regarding intermittent fasting, food etc. I also gave a little bit of background to what I have done over the years. Firstly, I just wanted to say a really big thanks to everyone who took the time to offer their input - there was some fantastic advice, tips and general information in there which was exactly what I was after. At the end of the day, like I do with most things in life - I take from it all what appeals to me and then work with all of those things collectively. And then earlier today, I stumbled across a post from @exyle celebrating precisely the same thing and from what appears to be the same starting point.

Before I even go ANY further - I have to say that I have been BLOWN AWAY by not only the enormously swift results, but also by the substantial increase in my energy levels and lastly - by how much easier it was to do than I thought it would be!!!

...I am referring to intermittent fasting!

text15.png

All I can say to myself is why the %$#@ did I not do this sooner! hahahaha!!! I do not own a scale and never will... my gauge is how comfortable I feel in my clothes and whether or not my thighs and upper arms stick to everything they shouldn't HAHAHAHAHA!!! But no, SERIOUSLY... in ONE week, I have literally WATCHED the weight peel off my body! My bentley belt has almost disappeared completely!!!! For those confused, I am referring to that incessant TUBE around the midriff....

CREDIT

Yes, those!!! - They are FAR less "cute" on an adult hahahaha!!! And the fact that I was starting to sport one, was NOT making me smile in front of the mirror, because I have literally lived my entire life without a worry in the world - so I decided to put those love handles in their place! lol!

text15.png

THIS IS WHAT I HAVE CHANGED

(It may not be text book, but nothing I do ever is lol)

My first meal is just after midday
...
My second and last meal of the day between 7.30pm to 8pm
...
I eat/snack on NOTHING in between except water/tea & coffee (with milk)
...
I have increased my water intake
...
I started 30 - 45 min cardio on twice a week.
...
I began taking a multivitamin

And let me just reiterate that I have ONLY done this for one week so far, and have already been super impressed!

text15.png

Like I said in my previous post, I became quite accustomed to living a "low carb" lifestyle some years ago - so jumping back onto that was not too difficult. Although this last week I have had both my rooibos tea and coffee with milk, I have now progressed to drinking my rooibos tea black (I only drink rooibos), so now I just need to pluck up the courage to eliminate the milk from my coffee haha - but baby steps hey! lol.

I am acutely aware of the fact that balanced nutrition is essential and I always have tried to ensure that I put that on a plate in front of me, but with this new venture - I decided to begin taking a multivitamin just to be sure. For those that are interested - below are the "sorts" of meals I have been eating (all home made - NO "instant" anything.) I am the ULTIMATE carb junkie, so I tend to gravitate towards low carb options (aka - comfort food) that give you a similar satisfaction - such as sweet potato, butternut, avo - etc.

THIS IS WHAT I HAVE BEEN EATING

(Low carb meals don't need to leave you feeling deprived)

2 boiled eggs, one avocado pear, some fresh/wilted baby spinach, fresh tomatoes, cucumber and sometimes a piece of sausage.
...
Sweet potato bake with or without bacon (the same as traditional potato bake but made with sweet potato) with a fresh side salad / cous cous / avocado
...
Lamb chops with sweet potato mash and a salad.
...
Scrambled eggs with diced bell peppers, baby marrows, onion etc. and fresh salad sides.
...
Spaghetti Bolognaise made with egg noodles (linguine / tagliatelle)
...
Egg noodles (linguine / tagliatelle) with sliced chorizo, diced baby spinach and olive oil.
...
Chicken and vegetable soup.

I honestly have not struggled with this at ALL. The first two mornings I had a slight headache and have had to ignore the hunger pangs on certain days... (the tea really helped with that) and then on Sunday I was not feeling very well (nausea) but I think this was due to the fact that I had been consuming just the soup for two days... and needed some fibre. I think I was constipated haha - I have experienced this previously with banting - so managed to curb it quickly. Other than that - it has really been a total breeze! And SOOOOOOOO rewarding to see the results!

Now, I just need to ensure that I maintain it whilst away on camp for the next week haha - although, I am normally pretty good with determined will - as most know haha! so yeah! That's my feedback! I am REALLY happy! There is nothing worse than starting to feel uncomfortable in your own clothes... so its always really motivating when you start seeing a positive change!

Oh, and for those that know me well... NO! - I have NOT cut out my wine! hahahaha!!! CHEERS to that!

THANKS GIPHY

Again, I welcome the sharing of any personal experiences, feedback, tips, opinions and advice...

Until next time...
Much Love from Cape Town, South Africa xxx

WHO ARE THE

Power House Creatives _night mode.png

The Power House Creatives is a discord community of individuals who are committed to producing content which adds value across multiple platforms. We are STRONGLY focused on supporting our fellow members individual growth as well as offering support to those that are still trying to get ahead. We are a CLOSE KNIT community of individuals, each with our own strengths, passions and input, yet ALL willing to go the extra mile for our family members... WHY? - because, simply put - we CARE about one another and MANY HANDS make light work! - THAT is what FAMILY is about! - To infinity and beyond...

text15.png

INTERESTED IN JOINING THE PHC FAMILY?

As most of you already know our community is closed. This does not mean that we are trying to keep people out or that we ignore those who aren’t members – it simply means that we are focused on keeping our standards of content high and our member commitment higher. I think if nothing else, we have proven those two qualities to the Steemisphere over the last year and even more so in the last seven days.

I am not going to sugar-coat things for anybody, because it would not make any sense whatsoever, nor would it serve anybody fruitfully - long-term. Our community is incredibly proactive - and DRIVING the success and growth of the people within it is our FUNDAMENTAL PURPOSE, because this is how they are able to do the same in return for other individuals in communities beyond our own! Our reach extends WAY beyond our own walls and this is one of the primary reasons why it is important to ALL OF US that each of our members are able to hold our flag high wherever they may roam.

We work hard, we play hard - we support one another through thick and thin, we know whats going on in our "3D" lives and no matter what it is - we are there for each other! Yes, there are daily responsibilities and obligations. Yes, there are things that fly within our walls and things that definitely don’t. Yes, we require quite a bit from you as an individual but you get it tenfold in return and ANY ONE of our members will gladly testify to this. Absolutely EVERYTHING is catered for and considered… including those times when you will NOT be able to fulfill your obligations. It simply requires the following of our procedures, which once you have grasped – are not complicated at all - I promise.

Everybody in our community jokes about my “boot” because they know that there are certain things that never were and never will be tolerated within our walls… and when they surface, those people will very quickly meet my infamous “boot” sending them out the door – or at least showing them that it is open. A few such things would be the likes of: not doing what you promised to do when joining, not being a team player, plagiarism, spamming, causing trouble with other members etc. These are all no-brainers really, so should not be much of a shock or challenge to anyone who is actually on Steemit (or any other platform) to make it a better place for everyone!

We may be a relatively small collective, but we have approx. 118 members from over 30 countries and that continues to grow. Most of our members are also key players in some of Steemits other highly regarded and supportive discord communities and initiatives - and all of us at “home” know without question or doubt that every single one of our members will make us proud with whatever they do – wherever they go – and that is precisely how we intend to keep it. Simple as that! No, this kind of “ethos” does not work for everyone – and that is perfectly fine - Each to their own. The people who have done the “putting in” are the ones that understand what they “get out” of it all ;)

So, if I have not scared you away yet, or if the above info excites you (even better) and you would still like to put in an application to join our fantabulous and VERY crazy little family… then by all means – hop into our applications server and do the necessary.

YEAH BABY YEAH - I WANT TO APPLY

I just looked back and I didn't address the last post, but I sure wish I had. I am doing intermittent fasting and I cannot tell you what a huge difference that it has made in my body. Even if you don't exercise on a regular basis, which is so wrong on so many levels but it does happen, you still will lose weight and inches in the places that it counts. Metabolically, I am at a loss for why this works except that for people like myself who are carboholics, it cuts down the carbs to a minimum level and my body responds well to that. At one point, I had to add a few extra carbs because the weight was dropping off too fast.

I will say that this is by far one of the best methods for staying healthy because you feel better, you look better, and intermittent fasting helps heal things inside your body. I have seen diabetics able to stop medication because of it of what it does to your body. I cannot say enough good about this.

Continued success and yes and multivitamin is a must and water. Oh, the water! We can just not get enough of that! Thank you for posting this and your success story. I know firsthand that everything you are writing is absolute truth.

I do know I have heard many positives about intermittent fasting and going low carb. I can say it has worked for me, as long as I stick with it. However, when I get off the wagon, not good lol.

that is so freaking cool, that you have such an amazing results. we tried it for a while when we were living in the Netherlands, but once we started travelling on almost daily bases - it waaaaaay more difficult, as we travel through timezones, long layovers, moving etc. sooo yea. would love to go back to it for a while. ;) congratz again. ;)

Wow! Awesome that you are getting results so quickly!

I am glad it works for you. I can’t skip breakfast, it is my main meal. The best diet for me is small meals low carbs.
