Emotional Health Affects Physical Health

In its 3rd year, the Gallop 2017 Global Emotions Report shows many Latin American countries have the most positive feelings and emotions in the world. Topping the list - Paraguay, Costa Rica, and Panama. Also included: Ecuador, Guatemala, Mexico, Chile, and Colombia.

MORE THAN 70% OF PEOPLE WORLDWIDE SMILED, EXPERIENCED A LOT OF ENJOYMENT OR LAUGHED A LOT YESTERDAY.

Unlike the World Happiness Report that looks at longevity, social, and economic factors, the recent Gallop Report asks just 10 questions about how you felt -- yesterday.

  • Did you feel well-rested?
  • Were you treated with respect all day?
  • Did you smile or laugh a lot?
Did you experience the following feelings during a lot of the day yesterday: * Worry? * Anger? * Physical pain? * Stress? Negative emotions were highest in Iraq (a 3-peat downer), South Sudan, Iran and Liberia.

Of the 142 countries and close to 150,000 adult interviews, the US ranked 38th -- tied with 8 other countries including Brazil, the U.K., Germany, Austria, and South Africa.

# Tips for More Positive Emotions Improving your emotional health takes a little effort: 1. **Own your stuff** - only you can control your reactions, not others. Act on purpose. 2. **Get others to smile or laugh** - whether you know them or not, laughter is a great way to bond 3. **Be grateful** - it's easy when good things happen, but even difficult situations have a silver lining - just look for it. 4. **Make authentic connections** - even a quick chat with a stranger while waiting in line can lift the spirits of both of you! 5. **Little steps** - like @jeffberwick says, "Happiness is a choice" - it's something YOU DO, not just wish would happen to you. And little things build up over time. 6. **Recognize the negative markers** - in the movie _**Inside Out**_, every emotion has value. Respect and listen to them. 7. **Hug it out** - a 20-second hug releases that feel-good chemical - oxytocin. Make sure it's welcomed!

I love Latin America <3

Well you know what they say, a fit body is a fit mind.
I hope you have a great day.
Keep Smiling :)

I have to admit this is quite surprising to me but I'm very happy to see that the Latin American countries are full of such happy people.

I wonder what their secret is :)

My kids live or have lived in several of these countries. They love the different way of life - an open and welcoming community, connection to nature, less focus on material possessions, great sunshine, fertile land with fresh produce, family bonds, and more!

thank you for sharing this ,very helpful :)
