My 2020: Just a normal day: Life of a German Student
Hi everyone,
I would like to share my daily routines with all of you. I don't have a particularly interesting life, especially now that I am a lot at university and studying for my exams. But I'll still try to show you an ordinary day of a German student and give an impression of my life.
1. Breakfast
I usually get up around 6:30 a.m. which is quite early (at least for me) and therefore I am usually really tired. First I wash myself (for your own good I haven't added pictures of that 😉), then I get dressed and pack my backpack with all the things for the day. Before I leave the house I eat something, mostly bread or cereal (like today).
2. On my way to university
Then I go to my university. I always need half an hour to get there which is okay. Of course it could be a lot worse, overall I'm glad I have a university near me.
Leaving the house so early in the morning is always a strange feeling because it is still dark and there are hardly any people around. It was also very cold today, something like 0 degrees Celsius (or 32 degrees Fahrenheit). I was really glad when I reached the warm university building.
3. My day at the university
Okay, what can I tell you about my day at university? I have a lot of events on most days and have to go from one to the next. The first usually starts at 8:15 a.m. and ends 1.5 hours later. I am either in lectures or in exercise groups. Besides that I spend my time studying in the library or eating something in the cafeteria.
Today I didn't went to the cafeteria, as a "poor student" I need to save money wherever I can 😓 (I am not broke or something like that, no worries 🙈). That's why I've brought my own bread with butter and salami, so I would have something to eat at lunchtime. Nothing special, but at least it helps fight my hunger - which is a beast by the way...
4. On my way home
When I finally finished all my courses at university I head home. That is normally between 4 and 7 p.m. and I'm always happy when I can go home because all the learning makes me tired. Learning is not as laid-back as one may think.
I often get something to eat at the main train station. Most of the time I choose fresh, delicious baked goods.
A little advice from me: If you ever come to Germany you have to try pretzels 😋
As you see it is not really a pretzel (by the way: In Germany we write "Bretzel"), at least it doesn't have the normal shape. But it's made from the same dough and basically tastes just as delicious. But it's not quite as thin and therefore a bit more loose, I like that very much.
5. The rest of my day
When I come home I try to relax a bit. After such a hard day that is a very important thing to do. In the evening I like to read exciting books, listen to music and watch Netflix.
I love finding new series, do you know a really good one I should check out? If you do let me know in the comments 👇
Of course I also learn at home as well but I am surfing on @busy.org, @steemit or other Steem sites meanwhile.
And that is a day in my life. Most days are just like that and like I already said nothing really special. I wish I could've shared more exciting pictures with you but my hands were tied, nothing really interesting to photograph here 😂 I hope it was still worth reading.
