Arsyad Yahya (62) a fisherman who lives on the coast of Alue Naga, Banda Aceh.
Every day he spends his time in the vast seas of fishing for his family's needs and part of his catch is sold to the market.

That afternoon, I accidentally met him on the beach.
I saw him checking his boat and occasionally looking out at the sea.
I approached and tried to talk to him.
Apparently, he welcomed me. I asked him a lot, and he told me about his life.

Being a fisherman is a descendant of his grandfather.
Since the age of 15 years, his father often took him to the sea looking for fish. But that day Yahya did not go to sea, was his son who replaced him looking for fish.

According to Yahya's story, his father was a fisherman who died at sea when Yahya was 20 years old.
At that time his father did not come home for two months, he assumed that his father would not come back again. Usually, when fishing the fishermen here spend a few weeks in the ocean. There are also fishermen who catch fish to the borders of other countries or fishing illegally. But Yahya guessed that his father's boat sank in a storm.

Initially, Yahya had a wife and three sons, but in 2004, his wife and two children were victims of the tsunami. In his family only Yahya and a son who survived the deadly tsunami.

Now at the age of 62 years, Yahya still often sail the ocean, though not as often as 10 years ago. And now his son began to replace his position as a fisherman to meet the needs of his family.
