The People are the most powerful Entity in the United States of America
The US Constitution is all about the Balance of Power among the various Entities. You have to understand that first, before understanding how the Balance of Power also protects each Entity from each other.
“Oh, I understand”, that is what a former employee told me after I explained to her the workweek and when payday is for each workweek. Letting her know that the check she was receiving was her last paycheck from the company. I looked at her and I could tell she was going to leave from there not fully understanding.
I told her, “No you don’t”, so I went back over all the details again. Second time she seemed to understand.
Now, for you a second time. The US Constitution is all about the Balance of Power among the various Entities. You have to understand that first, before understanding how the Balance of Power also protects each Entity from each other.
Not only does the US Constitution protect the State governments from Federal encouragements (that’s been weakened because of the 17th amendment), Federal from the States, Federal from itself, and States from themselves.
The People have protection from the Federal and State governments, but also protection from themselves.
The People’s protection from themselves, will be weakened with the elimination of the Electoral College.
The People are the most powerful Entity in the United States of America. Not the Federal, not the State, not Congress, not the US Supreme Court, not the Senate, not the House, not the Chief Justice, not the President, not the Speaker of the House.
But the People. And for that reason, the People can become Dictators themselves, dictating to their fellow People, their will. Even going as far as eliminating things they don’t like without going through the roadblocks of the Balance of Power.
What the various States are doing, throwing their State’s Electoral College votes to the National popular vote, ignoring whoever the Citizens of their State votes for, is another step towards the destruction of a Republic.
Allowing the People, to sidestep the Balance of Power that protects the People from themselves.
