The Starfish & The Sponge
Floating up above him the starfish sees a sponge
but he can not reach her despite his strongest lunge
The wish of the lone starfish
is a sponge hug with a squish
But he'll have to wait until the sponge takes the plunge
My method is to create some artwork and then make up a little story, if I can, to go with it. What inspired me with this scene, is how the starfish's lower limbs seem to be straining upwards, trying to break free from the seabed!

I was thinking about where creativity comes from. I could see how a psychedelic experience could pull back the veil and release the imagination. Just think of the Beatles' music after their experimentation! But in my case, I think it was my mother, who had nine children, and read bedtime stories to us, not all, but most of us gathered around her on the bed. She was so dramatic and vivid in her re-telling of these nursery rhymes that we had heard many times. They came alive in the present moment, and planted the seed of "magical thinking" in our minds.

Absolutely right, the Beatles are a great example on how psychedelic experiences can push creativity, inspire you and get people new ideas.
Aaaaaw, how beautiful your mother read you some stories for bedtime in a very vivid way and so inspired you, made you more creative and let your fantasy grow! :)
This is such a big treasure. My mum did the same and I am so, so thankful for that! This really is one of the main reasons why I have such a daydreamer mind today :)

Thank you! I use a general 3D modeling program, mine is called Modo. I've created my own recipes for making art. The 3D program gives me the ingredients, and then I "bake" them in Photoshop. By that I mean that I render a number of different types of "passes" out of Modo, and then use Photoshop to arrange, color and control certain effects in order to arrive at my finished art. I like to share my processes, so thanks for expressing interest in this image. I'll pull out the file I used and make some screenshots, and I'll let you know when I post it.
