I hope the why is answered by the revealing of the protagonist :-)
Why me?
Why am I denied?
When they have all they need.
Plates overflowing
Glasses brimming
I wonder at their greed.
My belly rumbles loud
And my cries
Don't raise a brow
Why me? I call out louder
But all they hear
Is my miaow.
I love the hint of cat! I bet they were having caviar as well! Fab.
I think that would have been the case :-)
