Sucked in Your Phone (Poem)
When you expect
To get a text,
Your mind’s alone
Fixed on your phone.
It’s like your soul
Was sucked in whole
In a vortex
(with your cortex)…
Absorbed into
This phone in view.
Your mind’s not here.
You disappear-
Into your phone
And your work zone.
Let your mind rest.
You get so stressed!
Pause. Put it down.
Return to town.
Don’t be a stone-
Sucked in your phone.

Love the poem. Thanks for the creation, and sharing it with us. It is rather apropos for today's world. Standing in line at the bank not long ago, watching a person phone talk and work with the teller at the same time. I've always been taught that's a bit rude. Maybe I'm just old fashioned...
Thank you. Yes, I see that a lot, too. It can feel rude to the person they are supposed to be talking with in person. I'm somewhat old fashioned, too. But I can also understand how some people are multi-tasking and trying to be "efficient"... I think it would be better to focus on one conversation at a time.
