The present
I say thank you to the universe as I open my eyes.
I lay in bed quietly appreciating this gift,
of life and love and the amazing relationship.
To everything, the universe and all that we are,
Even though I struggle to realize why we've come this far.
I feel as though we have lost sight of the goal,
it is only to be happy, productive and fruitful.
To give and to share and to help people out,
is really what lifes' greatest secret is all about.
So, I do my best to appreciate the signs,
the beauty in nature and the events that align.
But there is a gift that comes twice each day,
it's the universes way of saying everything is ok.
Once in the morning for you so you may rise,
and once in the evening to let you know it's ok to close your eyes.
The sunrise and sunset, the fire ball burning,
this world goes round n round and keeps on turning.
Tomorrow may never come so make everyday great,
because the past is behind you so its already to late.
Today is the gift that we have been sent,
that is why it is referred to as the present.

hi= as a friend, it is a good poem, but it needs the soul, well, i read it three times, i like it, but the soul is not in the writing itself as required, but in the pictures, i believe that this poem is excellent but it needs better views to make it as a window we need to look through it to see our idea as most of the followers here are " no English native !"

I appreciate ur input my friend. It is the first poem i have written in a very very long time and have lots of skills to work on. But the only way to get better is to write it, post it and wait for people to give feed back. However, if no one is honest about my writings and just always said nice things about it then i would never try to improve. So thank you for being a true friend and giving me your honest opinion.. now that u said that, i have re-read it and i honestly i think i could do better too! ;)
Very positive and motivational. Well done of putting together such a wonderful piece. I can vividly see the correlation between the poem and your name; the hippie vibes are spewing out of you. Hehe, I really enjoyed it. There are a few spelling mistakes here and there though, like the word 'its', which I believe was meant to be 'it's', but those are just minor details. Thanks for the spelling correction, grammar has never been my strong suit. I just hack away at the keyboard and hope it makes sense to atleast some people, lol.
