Golden Trumpets
Sight meets you to produce
golden trumpets.
Bell-like yellow shapes
wander midair.
Eyes watch your vines, suspended
amid the whole;
and it's Aurea mediocritas
your wisdom teaches.
Petals open up in daylight.
Ears envision.
Night sees you back to buds,
and music shuts.
But true is no embouchure will ever play you.
And no stroke will ever tease your bells of silence.
A Personal Comment:
As I have said two poems ago, Natural Gen is a series of minimalistic poems. Hopefully, I'll get them ready. The third one, "Golden Trumpet" is about illusion and metaphor. This is not the first time I write about this flower (which calls my attention, powerfully), which you can check here: Haiku - Golden Trumpet Vine (Allamanda cathartica) - Trompeta de oro.
Yellow is associated with solar energy; it symbolizes intelligence and riches. Some will tell you it is also associated with team work. The point is that this color and the apparent openness of the flower, plus the auditory imagery of heavenly music, jazz, and great announcement evoked by the shape of the flowers and its given name provides poetry in themselves, which is a great advantage if you look at it closely.
*In philosophy, Aurea mediocritas traditionally speaks of living with measure ("The golden mean").

Trompetas doradas
Te encuentra la mirada que produce
doradas trompetas.
Tus formas como campanas amarillas
vagan a mitad del aire.
Los ojos miran tus lianas, suspendidas
en el viento indiviso;
y eres Aurea mediocritas
en tu sabiduría.
Pétalos que abren a la luz del día.
Oídos que imaginan.
Una noche te devuelve a tus capullos
y acalla tu música.
Pero cierto es que tu embocadura no es para el músico.
Ni habrá golpe que taña tus campanas de silencio eterno.
Comentario personal:
Como dije hace dos poemas, Sabiduría natural es una serie de poemas minimalistas que comencé a escribir hace tres días. Con suerte, lograré terminar la serie que tengo prevista. El tercer poema es “Trompetas doradas” y trata de la ilusión y la metáfora. Esta no es la primera vez que escribo algo sobre esta flor (que me llama poderosamente la atención), lo cual puedes revisar aquí: Haiku - Golden Trumpet Vine (Allamanda cathartica) - Trompeta de oro.
El Amarillo se asocia a la energía solar; también simboliza la inteligencia y las riquezas. Algunos nos dirán que hay también quienes las relacionan con el trabajo en equipo. El punto es que este color y la aparente voluntad de abrirse al cielo de las trompetas doradas, más todo el imaginario auditivo que evoca música celestial (de seguro, no la trompeta del Arcángel Gabriel anunciando el fatídico Juicio), el jazz y los anunciamientos proveen poesía en sí mismos, lo cual representa una gran ventaja si se mira con atención.
**En filosofía, Aurea mediocritas tradicionalmente se refiere a vivir con mesura ("dorada moderación").

Beautiful poem that combines the majesty and wisdom of nature. The voice describes perfection made flower, with this "golden trumpet", speaks of its qualities and symbology. But, it also establishes a cross between night and day, hearing and sight, life and death, death and resurrection. Excellent work, friend @marlyncabrera. A hug!
