Another Day (Day 100 of 100) @d-pend

What a sweet thing
it is to look upon,
a parting glance,
a last sigh,

a kiss goodbye.

How many days…
a hundred, and
I’m still looking
your way,
three hundred,
and I feel I can’t
stay away, yet —
today is the day

we say bye-bye.

This is just
another beginning,
a twist on a strand,
a turn in the road,
a step away.

Perhaps I’ll find myself
looking over at you,
again,

some other day.

A hearty congratulations to all that crossed the finish line — we made it! It was challenging. I pushed myself in ways that I have not in years. There were days when I got one hour of sleep trying to fit this into my schedule and I revel in that, what a beautiful thing it is to be pushed past your perceived bounds. I feel I made some new friends and I certainly have been inspired by many during this period. There was a dark side too, and I am grateful for that as that is really where one encounters the shadow self — I learned a lot.

Thank you ever so to @d-pend for hosting this and being a shining soul full of Art and Beauty. You and I started steemit round the same time and I have long since felt a connection to you going back to the @poetrydice days. We be jammin’.

Thank you kindly to @dobartim and the Steemit School for hosting this as well, it’s a great service you do for the community, keep up the great work.

Thank you to @geekorner for putting your eagle-eye (rather than cat-eye) on a few on my unruly pieces when I was low on time and energy. And a Hearty Thank You for all the wonderful feeback/comments/critique you left under my poetree along the way — truly Amazing how much you bring to the table in this way and anyone the has had the pleasure is better off (imo). <3

Sort:

it has been a great honor to watch this lovely poetry unfold. Thank you for your creativity, vision, blood & guts. i love you.

I love you too, Amy. <3

Thank you for always being a solid in my life -- may the art always flow for us. <3

it has been a wonderful journey. Congratulations and I am so glad I met you through this exercise

I too am so glad to have connected with you, via, something as wonderful as poetry. Thank you for these wonderful words… to more poetry and the deepening of friendships through the magic of art. <3

Perhaps I’ll find myself
looking over at you,
again,
some other day.

Wow ... mamadini. You did it; we did it, and what a lovely poem you finished up with. Don't be going anywhere:) The challenge is done but let the poetry never end.

I am hosting something call #poetryweekend on my blog. It is a contest but mostly a community building thing. Stop on by and see if you want to join in. Today is #fridaypoets. You've already written the poem; so you are mostly there:) Hope you decide to join in the fun:)

Pryde, it's been a great honor getting to know you. I'm not going anywhere. ;)

And, I am totally going to play along with the poetry games you are hosting, perhaps I'll take a small break though. ::giggles::

This piece should be on the last page of the published "100 Days of Poetry" book, I'd want all the great poems to be published, all your works, guys, to be immortalized together in one place that would remind us all about this unforgettable 100 days' journey in a lifelong way surrounded with poetry)

I loved the piece, Niish, and the sentiment! Somewhat like a mother looking upon a little bird fallen down from a nest, realizing that it can fly!!!!!!! Saying bye-bye, but hoping to see her little one around )

I was but an observer, but I feel proud of you guys as if it was my achievement )

"like a mother looking upon a little bird fallen down from a nest, realizing that it can fly!!!!!!! Saying bye-bye, but hoping to see her little one around" Yes, this really captures the vibe. <3

It has been a real pleasure @liverussian, thank you for being part of the process, in the school room and making rounds on the poems. You are a Gem. <3

Congrats. Good shyte. Welcome back to reality.

Oh man! ahahaahaha. :)

Delicate to the point of elusiveness, or at least i feel so :) .

For me there is a real sense of elusiveness in endings. ;)

Thank you, dear bacus. <3

Ending differ from good bye exactly in elusiveness and lack thereof respectively :) .

Welcome... you are exactly, dear :) .

Yes, there is a different, even if it's in one's slant or relation to cycles.

Important differences are often subtle, arent they?

Indeed. I truly love pondering them too.

Me too, as you probably already know. Beside, may i ask what you are doing apart from poetry?

Oh my, I do a lot of things. Currently I am working on a series of oil paintings that desperately need more attention. Plus, I have a small cottage farm that takes a lot of time and effort, but I adore it so. I have a podcast that I do weekly and am often a guest on other shows. I think, in a nutshell, that covers the basics. I Do, no matter what, meditate daily and have most of my life. A lesson I learned during this challenge is that I should not interact with the outer world until I have had my time to contemplate. hahaha, hard learned reminders…

Congrats on making it to Day 100! I look forward to seeing 100 more :D

:: blush :: Thank you. And I look forward to having a little more time to be more active with people I dig, like you. :)

Aw great now I'm blushing too! :)

Delicate thread that builds a small magic carpet that slides by a gentle farewell with slopes. it's more like "see you later". Totally beautiful! I love, a lot, these lines:

it is to look upon,
a parting glance

a twist on a strand,
a turn in the road

Excellent work, @mamadini. It was a pleasure reading.

Thank you for these lovely words of kindness. I look forward to digging deeper into your work now that there is a little more free time for such things in my life -- the beauty of poetic words has always moved me and people that allow the energy to flow. <3

Ah, beautiful! It's sweet melancholy. This piece got warmth into my chest, @mamadini

I remember what Poe calls "unity of effect." Your poem has it. I've read it twice and I'll do it again. Thank you ☻

I'm coming back soon to upvote. And you may want to check that article, second to last line.
