…depression

Deep inside where nothing's fine,
emptiness lives, sadness reigns.
Unworthy and worthless,
no signs of hope remain.

The silence grows loud,
but no sounds are heard.
Leaving nothing untouched,
it's all been destroyed.

Confusion and solitude,
are one in the same.
Uncertain and desperate,
full of disdain.

The torment so vivid,
torture and pain.
We'd laugh if we'd could,
but there's nothing to gain.

Haunted by loneliness,
alone and afraid.
Exiled by fear,
condemned to the void.

Wishing for sunshine,
despair fills the air.
Foreboding apprehension,
seeps from your pores.

Seeing freedom is painful,
while your locked away.
Trapped in your mind,
pretending to live.

Playing games with the self,
to get through the day.
Making deals with your god
to show you the way.

Waves of insanity,
crash through your head.
Abundance of apathy,
sucks your last breathe.

Hollow and twisted
Dark and ugly --
yes I have depression
…no I just can't get over it!
