What is good never lasts (ssp-intermediate-day4)
"What is good never lasts"
I wrote this line in all my drafts
And everytime it gets deleted
I thought that's how it should be treated
It's a vicious wicked thought
When it shows up it should be fought
Now I don't seem to have that power
So I'm surrendering for an hour
For, after all, it's sort of true
How to ignore it? I have no clue!
Because what's good never lasts
In this world with deadly blasts
What is fair and what is pure
Is never able to endure
It keeps struggling to survive
But only evil things can thrive
Interesting and beautiful poems, the sequence of words is very comfortable to read, visit my poem yes, please input, here, thank you @hazem91

you have a very deep soul, I enjoy how you view things and how you are on steemit, and yep it does seem quite true that what is good never lasts,
than you so much my friend
I really appreciate your support 😊
I wish it was more ,well here's to hoping steem gets back on an upward trend
But, what's bad never lasts either. The infinite cycle :) Don't try and fight the thought when it arises, instead, embrace it. Enjoy it for a moment. Then let that pass as well.
Be well!
that's so true, thank you
And a very wise advice as well ^^
Thanks for passing by
My pleasure :)
So I'm surrendering for an hour
Ha! love it! Surrender is supposed to be more permanent, so this totally endears me to the poet, who may be sincere, but also may not have the resolve to carry out what he vows to do.
Too true:
Because what's good never lasts and What is fair and what is pure
Is never able to endure - but I want it to be untrue that only evil thrives. More, more, more to this poem - refute that final thought!
yeah maybe not ONLY evil thrives or "what's evil never last either" like @mikesthoughts said !
I'll see what I can do :) (but I have to write a new poem for the new day first ;) )
Aww, @hazem91, pay no attention to me when I whine and complain about the ending or anything being too brutal. It's what I do! I shake my puny fist of rage and demand that poets and authors give me happy endings. But you're not supposed to listen. :)
@hazem91,
@d-pend asked me to judge this poem.
I don't normally comment but this was so well written that I wanted to make an exception.
BTW: I hope you're wrong about the thesis of the poem but, irrespective, it made for a strong theme.
Keep up the great work.
Thank you so much @quillfire I appreciate your feedback
And good luck with the review
You're really doing a great job by assisting in this project ^^
It was sooo great to hear this read, my friend, glad you did and we had some space there at the end!
Your opening stanza seriously sets this whole piece up:
In it you have both broken the fourth wall (a phrase meaning you've torn down the barrier between the reader and your reality) AND introduced the context of all that the reader is going to experience (foreshadowing).
Wanted to tell you those terms in case they weren't already in your poetic arsenal, my friend! Especially because you use them so well here.
It's true this is a dark piece, but I think it is a balancing edge of two sides of the same coin, and I think your first stanzas address brilliantly that there is a path (even if the narrator isn't taking it currently) to fight evil and maintain good, though it is a difficult and ever present challenge.
I really love this piece, my friend, I think it might be your best yet - still room to grow, but you're definitely making big strides in the right direction and it's awesome to see. Still can't believe English is your third language, you're killing it!!
Hazem, this poetry thing is looking good on you. Well written!
Aww... This is so well written twin.
What is good never lasts" true but it comes again.... Just as bad things never lasts but at some point it shows up again 😊
You are deep and this was Awsome 🤗
So true. Nature is amoral. More profound than it seems. Although civilization tries to change that a little.
