Once Upon You.... a Poem
Do you remember me?
I remember you
A cigarette kissing your brass stained lips
The night enveloped in improvisations
And what if's
That I chose to turn
Into what not
And what a soundtrack that was
But all I heard was your highball glass
Drip
On an empty road
And then in that same night sky
You made your way into
My dreams
Two bodies
You smiled
I was happy
You were in love
And now
I ask myself
Where does it all go?
Where does love mourn?

Alas love does not or should not mourn too long, it breaks and hurts, but for the soul one must move on. To dwell is to set yourself in a hell, a prison when there is so much more to love. Those special times may never be repeated but to be defeated by them serves no one.
Lovely to see your poetic side, hope your having a relaxing weekend.
Hearts must never stay stagnant long....
But there is some melancholic sweetness in reminiscing.
