Acapulco Sunsets: Editing Wet Season Shots in Darktable

in #pht6 years ago (edited)

As I sit decked out with full mosquito protection and a fan blowing on me I will start by saying I'm not really a fan of the climate of this time of year. It comes with heat, humidity and a plethora of bugs but it also comes with a vigorous garden and the best sunsets of the year. We've had dslr cameras for about a year now but only recently have started editing those photos, making them a little more spectacular like the real thing often is.

While these cameras can pick up an extraordinary amount of data when shooting in raw (a format that holds all the color data info) they aren't always the best in putting them together automatically in the most visually appealing way. Often times something looks darker or brighter than the original image should have been and I see now that this is where photo editing comes into play.

Take this photo for example, you couldnt really see the mountains at all in the distance before editing.

Stay tuned, editing these photos takes longer but is proving to be worth the effort!

Very nice photography my friend. You should consider doing a table top book on it Acapulco with all your photography

This is something we've considered. We were going to do a calendar for @anarchaforko but that didn't end up happening.
