Juggling Without My Right Hand
Ever feel like life is a Juggling Act? There are always multiple balls up in the air, a couple in hand, and you just figure out how to keep up with them all and maybe 1 more gets tossed in. It takes time but you adapt and learn how to handle that extra ball and keep moving along without dropping any of the balls.
Then one day you say to your Spouse "Why don't you go to Hawaii with your Sister's, Mom, and Aunt for 2 weeks" and you realize that your spouse had her own juggling act going on and all those balls are now tossed your way.
We are now 6 days into my Wife's vacation and the fridge is empty, laundry isn't done, and the living room looks like a tornado passed by. Now the kids have made it to all their activities without fail and I've managed to do most my work plus keep up on the Pay If Forward Contest entries so not doing to bad. Plus if I'm being honest the living room only looks like that because we made shields tonight and it was an hour past bedtime when we finished so didn't make them clean up....oh crap, an hour past bedtime...yup messed that up because I never pay attention to the time.
Kauai: Why did the Chicken Cross the Road?
So my Wife is in Kauai and the first thing she sends us is a picture of chickens right outside the door at the airport, in the rental car office, outside the office, and just about everywhere. Make me think of @lynncoyle1 and some of her photos from Mexico with random dogs everywhere. As life goes on here she is off on an island with perfect weather riding ATV's, going to a luau, taking a helecoptor tour, and laughing about chickens running around everywhere.
Here I am trying to figure out how to keep juggling all these balls when my right hand girl is off exploring a tropical paradise. Hope she has a blast, this trip is for her 40th and her Mom's 60th birthdays. They deserve a nice trip like this even if it means I need to figure out how to step up my Juggling game.
Distance Makes the Heart Grow Founder
This saying was one that my Wife and I understood as we have been apart for almost a year early in our relationship. But since then, 20+ years have passed with us never really spending more then a couple days apart. Funny how when you see each other all day everyday you don't notice all of the little things the other person does to help keep your world running smoothly. Seriously my Daughter ran out of underwear...what kind of parent allows this to happen?
My heart has been and will always be hers, but right now I am appreciating her a lot more. Hope our time apart makes her miss what I do too. Know she was missing me when this little lizard freaked her out yesterday.
Feeding the kids
So the last 2 nights the kids have complained about eating PB&J again. Sorry, but warned them we are eating on the cheap while Mom is in Hawaii. It's really expensive to eat over there and figure we need to offset that expense at home. So while I'm listening to them complain about this we get a photo of her lunch (5 hour time difference)
Yeah we might have to eat out tomorrow or I'll actually get to the grocery store and make something better then Mac N Cheese, frozen pizza, or Sandwiches. Guess after what will be a week they probably deserve something better then that.
Sorry guess I deleted the wild chicken text which had the photos. It's pretty funny to see and will be part of a future post for sure.
So if you notice I'm a little slow to respond or miss a time slot for an expected post you know why. One of the many balls I'm juggling somehow made it to the ground. I'll pick it up soon enough and promise not to forget about the things I need to get done....just might be a little delayed.
Oh and if you ever hear me talking about sending my Wife on a tropical paradise vacation without me again please for the love of god remind that I decided it was a really stupid idea...oh how I wish I was there right now.

Nobody remembers their wedding vows. It was clearly stated that the wife will never ever leave the kids with daddy for more than 7 days. That's about the time when all the balls start falling and thing geat piled up to almost the point of no return. The kids start to question daddy because the fun is over and things are getting serious.
ROFL
because mom knows this and is teaching one of those life lessons.
The only way to save your manhood is to hire a team of woman and take care of all the things men don,t know or would ever see. Then when mom comes through the door you act like nothing out of the ordinary. Make sure you pay cash. no record
Woman are the best thing that ever happen to men.
Oh I wish those vows were in there. I'd have to be sending the video to her right about now.
The kids decided to get pissy with each other today and that pretty much sent me over the edge. When doors start slamming I know it's time to figure out something different. The making of shields worked great. The kids always love a craft project and while they were doing it together they didn't need to interact at all...lol.
LOL omg you 2. You better be careful or I'm gonna grab @lynncoyle1 and @cicisaja.
@thedarkhore, you might want to get the house picked up a little before she gets home. I know it were me and I saw laundry piled up , dishes, no vacuuming, all those silly things....I'd walk back out the door. I would do the 'Hi Honey, did you miss me kiss' and then run right back out the door.
Come to think of it I did that LOL. One of only the few times we were separated it was for 2 weeks. I had to go out of town for work. He was left by his lonesome. He only had to take care of himself and the cat.....let's just say I walked in, didn't recognize my apartment and walked right back out. He asked me what I was doing. I said I'm not coming back until it's clean LOL. I love him dearly (after 15 yrs I should) keeping up with any size of living space is not even a thought in his mind LOL
Oh I took care of dishes, laundry, and the lawn already today. Getting things in order before it gets completely out of hand. Kids picked up their crap from around the house and it looks like a house again vs a playpen. Figured a fresh start was a good idea.
Oh boy...I didn't even consider that she would walk right back out...lmao. But she totally would do that and has after I had people over for a night while she was gone. Walked in and said you have 2 hours to make my house not smell like a brewery and left.
Good job :) on getting caught up. That's funny she's done that too.
Faster, faster, now we add in the chainsaws to the juggling! 😉
Come on...now that just isn't fair...lol.
hahaha this is perfect! It really does make you appreciate all that she does, doesn't it?! :) And yes, the chickens...I saw more today...in the doorway of a restaurant; they were smart enough to not walk inside!
Customer: "Whats on special" as the chicken walks in the door...
Server: "Might be chicken...lets see what happens next"
hahaha @thedarkhorse! I shouldn't laugh because it's quite possibly true 😅
Wow she is off for a nice trip :) .. but it makes you appreciate her company even more if she is gone for that long, right? Especially after being together for that long .. But you are doing just fine, so it seems .. counting down until she arrives home? :) and are you enjoying all that space in your bed lol
She is on her dream vacation, except she is with her family instead of me. But honestly that makes it more of her dream vacation as they all like to take it slow and keep vacations relaxed. Personally I like to cram as much as possible into a trip and go until we are ready to fall over. Not one for laying around for hours on the beach doing nothing but soaking in sun...15-20 minutes maybe but even then I'm likely to get up and try and find something to explore. We really are opposites, but we work well together as we balance each other.
The countdown started the second I dropped her and her Mom at the airport...lol.
And now you can add one hand juggling to your ever growing CV @thedarkhorse? I’m very impressed. If your wife doesn’t already feel loved and appreciated by the fact that you are making these fabulous sacrifices for her, she certainly will when she reads this post. 😊
Don’t let anyone tell you multi-tasking is a breeze. You will all be closer as a family when life gets back to normal. Loved reading this post and I’m sure you will handle the rest of your fatherly duties without a hitch until your ‘Right Hand’ returns home again. 🏠
Lawn is mowed, kids are showered, and will be to their church program on time as they are singing. Today is going pretty good so far.
Did realize that we missed a friends 40th Birthday Party last night...totally forgot about it as I was running around dealing with life. Probably all for the better as the kids got a much better night sleep this way and they are behaving like kids instead of hellions today.
