Some of my favorite bookstore signs and displays (5 original photos)

As you can see from my last post I love books and of course bookstores so I went over my photo archives to compile a selection of some of my favorite bookstore signs and displays spotted along my travels.

Sign in Oamaru, New Zealand

Love the play on words here: "Slightly Foxed books." On lots of secondhand online bookstore sites you can see the word "foxed," which means the book is "discoloured with brown spots." So it is a cute idea to have a fox reading a book on their sign.

Sign in Bergen, Norway

Love the classic font used on the sign and the "leatherbound" feel of an antiquarian book. Unfortunately I did not have a chance to go inside. The town itself is so beautiful and charming.

A more modern sign that I saw in the Victorian precinct of Oamaru. I love the vibrant colors, which are a sure way to attract customers like me on a rainy day!

I think it was in the window of a Waterstones bookstore near Russell Square. I like the words and the adorable child reading intently.

The Folio Society, founded in 1947, is famous for producing beautiful book covers, stunning illustrations, and high quality binding. I just read that the store closed in Dec 2016. I am so glad I got to see it before it shut down.
