And what a lovely day it IS! 

I'm excited to participate in the Steemit Photo Challenge #8 - Long Exposure. This week's challenge (has it really already been a week?!) inspired me to play with my camera more than I have in awhile. I take a LOT of photos, but sometimes I get caught up in the silly mindset that it's something that I have to do, rather than something I want to do. I believe inspiration (or lack thereof) is reflected in the images I capture. 

THANK YOU to @berniesanders and @jamtaylor for hosting this photo challenge, as it's got me all fired up again! Got my ninja master mind set back on lock now, and I'm grateful for the motivation!

I present my entry for the Steemit Photo Challenge #8. Behold:

City Creatures.

This is a never-before-seen and never-to-be-see-again view of the Chicago skyline taken on my O.G. classic iPhone 4.

A lovely bit of digital abstraction here. Usually, crispy focused images get me going, but there's something about this floating, "who knows what I'm really looking at" scene that is deeply satisfying to me. The overlapping lights convey the squeezy, swirling, hectic, muddled feeling I perceive from the energy in cities--so many people coming together focused on individual success, but not a lot of clear directive towards a higher good for ALL. 

I find it enjoyable to visit the city vortex from time to time (especially my beloveds San Francisco and Cusco), but overall I prefer nature myself.
