Mystery Dragonfly
Through photography I am trying to learn more about the world around me. I certainly notice more of my surroundings and the inhabitants than I did before. This weekend I was captivated by this large orange dragonfly that affixed himself to a stick in a lake for several minutes.
He had a friend too, but I was much more interested in getting to know the large orange dragonfly as I did not recall seeing one before.
After looking it up, the closest thing I found was the "Flame Skimmer". However those are primarily on the West Coast of North America and I am here on North Flrodia.
If anyone knows what type of Dragonfly it is, please share below.
There were some other more common Dragonflies in attendence.
All pictures were taken by @rawruss with a Nikon D3400 w/ 70-300mm lens in North Florida on July 1, 2018.
Very beautiful photos!
Today a red big dragonfly flew to my balcony and sat on my plant.
But, unfortunately, I could not take a photo, since I'm doing it with my tablet.
And with him just do not get a good photo of a dragonfly in the distance ...
If you see him again and are able to snap it, please post it here for me to enjoy. Cheers!
Yes, if the dragonfly flies yet.
Incredible shot 😊
