Close up of Mountain (Behind my House)

in #photography6 years ago

I wanted to take a moment and share a couple of photographs I took with a new lens I bought. I am still learning the settings and it has the capability of getting even a closer view. Learning this first part is enough for now. Those of you who have seen previous photos of the mountain behind my house should take a look at one of those photos. These two show the top portion. It is quite the distance from my house. I am hoping as I gain a better understanding on it's use the photos will get better and I will be able to get some closeups of wildlife. I will also have to get my tripod out and learn to use it with my lens.

wonderful photo collection dear @r2cornell every time you do beautiful job keep it up....

Awesome view! I love mountains scenery from the distance and these looks fantabulous. Which lens you have used of how many megapixels? I also recently bought DSLR and I'll show you soon.

My Canon Rebel T5 has 18 megapixels.. The the lens is a Vivitar High-Power 500mm/1000mm f/8 Manual Telephoto Lens. This is a little lower end that I would have liked, but I have not used one this powerful before. I can learn on this one and if it does what I hope then in the future I can get a higher end telephoto lens. I only had a little time today to get a feel for it. These top two photographs I took today. I am excited about the prospect of Spring so I can go up into the hills.

I have gotten my daughter excited (she has the Canon Rebel T6. We are talking of taking some photo shooting trips around the area when the weather improves.

Ahh, that's cool. You got a cool lens for hill photography.

Especially at the distance I was shooting..

some days ago I went to tea garden in Sylhet . Its imageing awesome.I think you like this view dear @r2cornell:-

Enjoy yourself :)

Thank you! You can used of the cold...But it is nice to come inside and sit near the wood stove.

Right! and with Cup of some hot coffee, its perfect moments :)

Wow, that's a really powerful zoom! You can practically see the deer on the hillside.
What kind of lens is it (brand and specifications)?

The the lens is a Vivitar High-Power 500mm/1000mm f/8 Manual Telephoto Lens. I would have liked a higher end one, but this is a good inexpensive one to learn on. On my PC I can expand the photo and yes if there were deer or elk you would be able to see it. Now to figure out the 1000 mm part of the lens and I think I could get a close up of a deer. :o)

That would explain the zoom! I think it's wise to get a less expensive version until your skills demand a high quality one. I have a simple DSLR camera and my skills haven't outpaced its capacities yet, so I haven't upgraded. I suppose if I used it more and got more technical, then it would be worth it to upgrade, but for now it doesn't make sense. The one I have works great.

Yes, if you can get the 1000mm part working, you'll be taking pictures of insects on the mountain! Ha ha

LOL! that will be something. I will need my tripod for the 1000 mm.

Yesterday I was looking at a telescope attachment that was 2,000mm. THAT would let you get those insect pictures! Heck, it'd be so close you could take pictures of that bug's pores and send them to his dermatologist. Ha ha

I'm glad to see those area. Winter season yet with snow condition. Do you walking there? Hiking is great adventure.

When the snow clears up I get out and into hills hiking. On the mountain top it is a long way, so I have never ventured that far.

Massive area captured by you. Snow has everywhere on the floor. B&W both once really awesome. Final one sunlight reflecting. Thanks for the effort.
