South Point Cliff Dive, Big Island (Hawaii)

in #photography7 years ago

Hello! 1 month later, I already miss a lot the Hawaiian Islands.

South Point Cliff Dive is a popular place near the Papakolea Beach (Green Sand Beach) located on the south of the Big Island (Hawaii). It's best known for a spot where it's quite high, as well as safe to jump from a cliff and climb back up through one of the metal ladders.

How to get there?

It's located on the Big Island and the address is Ka Lae Rd, Naalehu, HI 96772. It takes some drive through road with one of most beautiful landmarks on Big Island, 30 minutes from Naalehu and 1h 45 minutes from Hilo.

Different ladders, same altitude

During the day, there are always some people having fun, taking photos and watching others getting wet.

Scary to look down. While it's not a smartest idea to jump down, there are people swimming down there - they swam there from the shore after jumping from the cliff.

It was very windy and the sky was cloudy. Water had beautiful turquoise color.
