Highways on Hawaii beautiful "Big Island" - Hawaiʻi Belt Road - 11, 19, and 190
Big island (largest island located in the U.S. state of Hawaii) provides one of best views one can experience during road trips.
I had an opportunity to take some great shots during drive on the Māmalahoa Highway and other roads nearby.

Instead of typical coastal views with sandy beaches, there are often lenghty extents of old lava which consumed ground years ago.

Driving on Big Island is a very pleasant experience. People drive safe and roads are well marked. There are all the time nice spots for photography or for just enjoying views. Four-wheel drive (e.g. Jeep) is recommended.
Hawaii is a windy place, and weather can change quite fast. On January, sun goes down on 6:22 PM, dusk illuminates for quite a long time. During evening and night, night is full of stars, of which my favourite are the Pleiades. I recommend installing "Sky Guide" on your smartphone, which helps to understand at which star you're staring at the moment.
