Medieval architecture in Normandy …
A typical example of the original architecture in Normandy. This is one of the main streets in Etretat… to be honest, there is only 1 main street, and this is it 😊
The funny part is that the big house on the left has been built in the fourteenth century and is typical for Normandy… but not for Etretat as it has been originally built in Lisieux, +/- 80km from Etretat.
In 1912, the whole house has been “moved” and rebuilt at the actual location to become a restaurant. Thanks to that, the house survived the bombing of Lisieux in 1944 and is now a typical example of the medieval architecture in Normandy.
Today it is a hotel and restaurant and you can book it here...
And yes, the photo is heavily edited… I must say I’m pleased how it finally came out when I see how the original RAW file looks like… I had to shoot the scene in a hurry as a massive group of Japanese tourists was just behind us and I wanted to shoot an almost empty street. I swear that's a challenge in Etretat 😊

How are things going so far here?
Basically, things are okay here, aside from a few frustrating things. Like the thumbnails not showing. Then, I created a new "test" posting to try to fix the thumbnail issue and learned we cannot delete posts...?!?!? And I have to click on "FOLLOW" two or three times before the site allows me to follow someone. But, otherwise, it's okay!
