Smaller bits of Dutch countryside
On the yards of the older farms in my region of Twente, The Netherlands, you often find smaller buildings which served specific purposes. Here is one of those:
Olympus Stylus 1s, 33mm, ISO100, f5.6, 1/250s
No idea what it is for, and the presence of a water pump and a chimney only provide limited clues.
This one, however, was used for storing potatoes. It is called tuffelhuuske in the local dialect:
Olympus Stylus 1s, 37mm, ISO160, f5.6, 1/80s
For completeness, here's an older photo of a bread oven, also standing on a farm yard, well away from the main house. It is called bakspieker in the local dialect:
Olympus Stylus 1s, 37mm, ISO200, f5.6, 1/40s
Thanks for watching!
Great looking pictures, might be nice also to see them in b/w , cheers mike

Those are neat little buildings! How deep does the potato house go? The high earth banks should keep it a bit cooler, I'm guessing the walls are quite think as well.
Not much deeper than what you see, maybe an extra meter. It's just for the farmer's use, not for commercial quantities of potatoes.
interesting photos -thanks
Looks like a dwarf house from "Snow White and 7 dwarfs" lol.

Cute! :)
I really need to have the first 2 in my backyard!!! Well, my backyard is not big enough, but they are so nice and I love tiny houses ;)
You can't have them! They're ours! 8-)
