Moths: Mint Moth
The mint moth (Pyrausta aurata), muntvlindertje in Dutch, is a tiny moth with a wingspan of only 10 to 15mm (0.4 to 0.6"). It is, as the name says, mostly found on mint, or related plants.
It is found in Europe, Africa and Asia and flies from April to September, usually in two generations.
These moths are a pain to photograph, as they are tiny, hard to spot, hardly ever sit still, and are easily scared away. Still, I managed to get a few photos:

Olympus XZ-1, 112mm, ISO400, f4, 1/400s

Olympus XZ-1, 28mm, ISO100, f5.6, 1/80s

Olympus XZ-1, 112mm, ISO100, f5.6, 1/125s

Olympus XZ-1, 112mm, ISO100, f4, 1/200s
In the second and third photo they are actually sitting on mint, as they are supposed to.
Thanks for watching!

A small but beautiful moth. This butterfly is also regularly to be found with us. Your photos are really excellent.
Have a nice weekend, my friend
Thank you. We have a small habitat near here full of water mint (Mentha aquatica) and it attracts a great many butterflies and moths, not only this species. It smells nice there, too 8-).
