Moths: Four-Dotted Footman

in #photography7 years ago (edited)

The four-dotted footman (Cybosia mesomella), vierstipbeertje in Dutch, has a wingspan of about 30mm (1.2") and can be found in most of Europe from June to August.

These are lichen and algae feeders and they like heaths, moorland, damp grassland, and fens. They also like to hide deep down in heather, so it's another knee buster when you go look for it.

Thanks for watching!
